In chapter 165 there is a scene in the Kareokee bar where Manaka uses the wording can we start our relationship over from the beginning. Then Nishino asks later on why do you what to break up then? I just wanted to know if anybody is on the same wavelength as why Manaka is using that wording and Nishino is interpretting it as a breakup.  My next question has to do with the last page of Chapter 165 where they are in the airport and she says well I will be waiting for you at Cannes. Does anybody know what at where Cannes is and is it mentioned anywhere else in the story?

manaka wanted to chase for his dream, and he was scared he would hold nishino back if he was still going out with her, and so he decided to break up.. i think manaka wanted to start over their relationship as friends, because that way he could chase his dream without disturbing nishino...

Cannes is a city in France.. it isn't mentioned at all in the story..

Cannes film festival is what she meant.

The link will give you some clue as to what it is. She's basically saying she will wait for his work to appear in the Cannes film festival, held in France which is where she will be. And he said something about it being too fast for him to amount that.

I think it was more the atmosphere that was leading up, rather than the words used.

Read from here onwards, where it says Nishino knows what's going to happen next.. picking a happy song on purpose .. acting bright... She misunderstood the reason to be Toujou though..

And perhaps the phrase is similar to asking for a breakup in Japan..? - Why are you crying, Toujou-san?

I reckon this is one of the saddest scene other than the confession she made..
