Grave of the Fireflies
« on: June 21, 2005, 11:16:35 AM »
This movie is quite old and i thought it was a bit surprising that it wasnt in the forums. This movie was set in japan after and before the horshima bomb where 2 children become orphans.
Has anyone seen? It very depressing one of the saddest films i've ever seen.

I almost cried.
You could hear all of Eden hold its breath
On this the anniversary of wonder’s death
Unholy occasion what a terrible mess
Oh it's time for a new dress

This is one of those films I can't recommend to anybody; I have to let them discover it for themselves. It's one of a few films I've only seen once and have no plans to watch again (another is Schindler's List).
Forget drugs and alcohol... I am now very, very mellow.

Im not afraid to admit I cried  :'(
Yep very sad. And there is no good that comes from war. There never is.
i would still recomend this movie to anyone. It has a good story and the cutest lil kid (well the second cutest, my neice is the cutest baby =D)
It has drama and a good plot. You can't mess wiht that! <- excuse the stupidity.

Well this is like 6th version of these boards... and since it is old, of course we had a topic when it came out on DVD here a few years back... Well, when it got rereleased anyway.

yea i know.i was expecting a happy ending but..... there wasnt one.

But it was obvious there wasn't going to be a happy ending from the beginning.

"That was the day I died." is never a sign of a happy ending.

Not all war movies are sad. TIs only sad when you lose the war. Not when you win it ;)

I think its a better show if you cry. Infact I think its a good show if it makes you feel any strong emotion.
