I thought it was pretty entertaining despite the glaring flaw about the most powerful samurai being Tom Cruise.

In any case, Jean Reno, would have made a better samurai. =P

You kidding , MAN Ill tell you who would made a good Samurai , and thats Andy Griffith from Mayberry , not Tom Crusie.  MAn he could sing he had a good since of honnor and pride hehehehe my pick of the liter  ;D

Tom Cruise didn't play a samurai in the movie. He was just a guest of the last samurai. The westerner was adapted in so westerners themselves could understand things better. I understand that you can mistake Tom Cruise as supposedly playing a samurai and I did too until I saw the movie. It's actually a good movie as a movie. It isn't a historical documentary.
