I can't wait until this movie opens! I'm going to see it on my birthday. But even better, I'm going the 23 to see it on stage! It's my second time seeing it live, and we got orch. seating... It's gonna be fun. ;D

The movie doesn't look too great and that's just looking at the trailer. I read literature, not watch it.

Swim upsteam, for the beginning starts there.

I didn't know they were making a movie x_x Guh

I love the Broadway play though-seen it 2/3 times.  I thought it was excellent.
Hmm...now I'm interested.

Night Priestess: I don't really like when people go to see a movie that's been remade at least five different times and is a book, yet they don't know what the movie's about.

but I heard that Webber was doing it, so it might be even farther from the book than the production... *shrugs* oh, well. guess I'll find out, right?
but the book is really good. I highly recommend that anyone who has not yet read the book to read it.

To quote Stewie "You are the worst thing to happen to musical theatre since Andrew Lloyd Webber!"
I scoff at your pathetic signatures!

what do you mean?
and Lloyd Webber isn't that bad, in my opinion. he does well, when he doesn't twist things too much.

ITS SOOOO ROMANTIC!! When the girl and the guy were on the deck thingy... and it was snowing... OMG!!! I LOVED IT!!!!  The whole time i was watching it... I was thinking of me and Charles. ( Ex ) Its a great movie. I've seen it on stage... and it was cool.
Fuck this fucking world. I don't belong here. I belong.. with someone like me. Someone nice who actually has feelings. who tries not to hurt other people. That would be nice. actually once -n- awhile... i wonder if there is a part on the world that is like that. I don't think so, cause the way people treat me. I mean, i don't try to hurt people, but, y'all do. People never understand me. Never have. Never will. So  just run away.

I remember seeing it onstage when I was small and enjoying it from the first musical number.  So when I heard that they were making a movie version of the stage production, I was very excited.

I was quite impressed.  Gerard Butler portrayed the nefarious Phantom so very well.  There were a few edits within the music (a complete and total bastardization of Andrew Lloyd Webber's work), but all in all, I enjoyed it. :)
Look around... chances are I'm right behind you.

although in some places it completely destroyed the original production, and aside from the whole chandalier thing (which really pissed me off, btw), it was excellent. although there is this link, http://www.livejournal.com/community/m15m/6231.html, that really does an accurate job of re-scripting it in a modern vernacular to make it enjoyable, if not outright hilarious. I suggest reading it, because it takes about fifteen minutes to read through... ;D
