I think it's a bit weird that they are making an MG Ball and PG Strike, but cool none the less. The HGUC G-Fighter seems pretty cool, if it weren't for the fact I already have the toy of it I'd get it. Wing Zero Custom looks good, but I'm not too interested with Seed Variations. And the rest look nice although I have no clue what they are.

Maybe now that HGUC is going back into a 0079 trend(maybe, since they are making the G-Fighter) they will actually make a production type Dom and Gelgoog. But I think it's more likely that with the success of the Hyakushiki and Bazooka Launcher that Bandai will be making more retooled MS(well the Hyakushiki actually wasn't gold plated for once) with vehicles/large weapons. But who knows, I am wrong alot after all.  :P

Hey, I am SO getting that MG Ball ver.ka... ^^ That'll be great. And I figured they would be making a PG Strike, look how fast they spit the MG out? Might as well cash in while the series is popular, especially now that it came over here. Now a Freedom PG, I would not be so sure of, as in general, PGs don't just pop out like MGs do. ^^;; But a PG Freedom would just be amazing. @_@
Title: Re:Upcoming Model/MSIA Releases
Post by: Kairu de Large on August 27, 2004, 02:14:43 AM
Well weird for a Ball mainly because it's so small and I guess I couldn't see it becoming an MG. And although the Strike made sense I wasn't expencting it, I figured to next PG would be the Hyakushiki(since they already had the Zeta and MK II, many people thought or at least were hoping it'd be this MS) or another popular UC suit. I wouldn't doubt, based on the time in between other PG's release dates, seeing a PG Freedom out around Fall-Winter 2005. I think it would look nice, although many hate the Freedom I do happen to like it(though I understand it's not the most original MS to be designed).

New pictures of the PG Strike:

Now this is something I wouldn't mind getting myself someday, such a beautiful and also sick looking kit.

Awesome... Although I still think they should have thrown in the Aile attachment for an extra 2000 yen or something.

Well they are still making a 1/60 Sky Grasper that comes with the Aile pack, all compatible with the PG Strike. I do not know when it's being released or how much it will cost though.

Is this a B-Club item? It sounds like it. >_< $$$$$$

No it's a bandai item, but it's still PG so it might cost quite a bit anyway.  x_x

Ok, well, as long as its not B-Club it won't be $100 or something. ^^;; I'll probably get that at some point too then. :)

I may get it someday, but if I'm getting any of the PG kits it's going to be Zeta Gundam. ^^;

HLJ just recently got the PG Strike in stock and it's about $126 (14,000 yen).

I found an interesting site someone posted at Gundam Forum of the PG Strike they built, and it can go in some rather silly poses I might add:

Heh, cool... and yeah, I noticed it had come in stock... I need it eventually. Maybe Anime Boston 2005. :) It sure looks a lot more posable than the Zeta PG... ^^;;

Well, the MG Ball and MG Rick-Dias (Red version) were just released a little while ago... any word on what's coming next? :-\ I am so behind, I need to get a whole bunch of kits to try and catch up to Bandai's release schedule ^^;;
Title: Re: Upcoming Model/MSIA Releases

Well HGUC wise we've got the Marasai coming(http://www.hlj.com/images/ban/ban932169.jpg) and a Hazel Kai coming out maybe around Febuary/March.

As far as MG kits go there doesn't appear to be any new ones out for a while, and with Gundam Seed Destiny keeping bandai busy who knows how long it will take.  :-\

  Gunota: " More MSiA details
Taken from T.J. Grosnet's Yahoo site:

MSiA Asshimar - Comes with large beam rifle and a display base for its mobile armor form.

MSiA Galbaldy Beta - Beam saber, beam rifle, shield, and ballute pack.

MSiA HiZack - Zaku machine gun, beam rifle, heat hawk, beam rifle (listed twice for some reason), shield, missle pack, and ballute system.

MSiA Dark Dagger L - Cannon pack and bazooka instead of the flight unit.

MSiA Windam (Neo Lorrnoke custom) - Beam saber, beam rifle, shield, and flight unit.

EMSiA Zeta Gundam - The implementation of the waverider transformation is the same as the 2.0 version's but they do say that "because of the variable mechanism, this is a Z Gundam you can play with". Comes with beam rifle, beam saber, shield, grenade launchers, interchangable head part for the Zeta Zaku (we kid you not), and mobile armor form display stand.   ¶ 9:07 PM "

YES! Now this is what I like to see, Zeta Gundam getting some recognition. I'm going to buy every one of those(Maybe even 2 Asshimars so I can display one in MA form) as soon as they are released. I also note the addition of a Zeta Zaku head for the Zeta Gundam is pretty damn amusing. Anyway moving on with some more new stuff.

"It's being reported on 2ch boards that this month's hobby mags have announced that the next Master Grade will be an RX-78-2 (Project Pegasus version). Price and sale date to be announced. Also an HGUC Gundam Mk II + Flying Armor (2,100 yen, March 26th). "

"Hobby Japan
Questions regarding future releases of HGUC and MG
- Zeta kits will be the focus with the movie release and the staff assures more will come even after the movies are over.
- No plan for updated version of MG Zeta Gundam as they are satisfied with the original release.
- HGUC will be the core for future Zeta kits."

That's all for today.

Well, the transforming EMSiA Zeta sounds cool, I'll probably just get that. I like to usually stick with kits from now on... but I can't pass up a Zeta Gundam. ^^;; The Zeta Zaku is classic... Also, more Zeta stuff in the future... yay. ^_^

I don't have a lot of time or money on my hands, so the MSIA work fine for me while I don't have a job. It's mostly that I love grunt suits and this is the first time those suits have been made into anything since the 80's(or if at all) so thats whats getting me excited. ^^

Gunota has some pics but they are very low quality, they look as if they were badly photo copied(mostly the MSIA pictures, a few were pretty decent looking). Here are the links:

Damn those kits are great I hope I can buy one eventually god so much money to spend!! (it's my birthday in 2 days)

Yoh Judau what about boston 2005 there is an anime convention or something?? when?? If I didn't tell you my father lives in bodton and I go from time to time (once every 3 weeks more or less) and maybe you could info me about what's happening..

Oh and I just started my MG Wing Ver. K.a. it's such a nice kit but I'll pass on most of the decals there are too many I'll keep the
'Colonies Liberation Front' though cuz he's cool Yoh the wings are amazing on this kit... No boosters though...
And the transformation type is really nice. I'll post pictures as soon as I can and I'll put a link what da ya think?

Awesome, what I'm really excited about are the Hyakushiki, Mk.II AEUG, and Impulse HCMPro figures... I can't wait to get some. :)

And yeah, I have the Wing Gundam Ver.Ka MG, good stuff. I never put on all of the little labels, I hate the stickers, they look shitty, so I only put them on if it needs it. Wet and Dry Transfers are nice, though. :)

As for Anime Boston 2005, its from April 29th-May1st at the Hynes Convention Center. You have to pre-register of you will not get in.

They look pretty nice, and although it's only a prototype the Zeta Gundam looks like it will be great *grins at little zaku head*.

I'm really not sure about the HCM Pro series, I haven't decided if I'm going to buy any. The MK. II Titans and Rick Dias looked pretty nice maybe I'll get those and the Hyaku Shiki when it comes out(although I really want the MSIA Hyakushiki & Mega Bazooka Launcher ^^;). I really want the new Extended MSIA Gouf(one of the few Zeon grunts I don't have) and MK II though, *sigh* so many choices such little cash...

I can't wait to get a few... I'll definitely keep it to my favorites, but that means a lot. ^^;; Hopefully they will come out with the Zeta soon... they are releasing all of the other Zeta AEUG suits... And as for the Hyakushiki, I'm planning on getting the HCM Pro, skipping the MSiA, and getting the FIX Figuration.

lol, That was my reaction when I saw the FIX Hyakushiki too, it's a beautiful
figure. I also would like to get the FIX Figuration Zeta Gundam and Gundam F91(since it's most likely the best version, model or figure, available.) But I'm fine with MSIA for the time being as the new ones are much improved over the old ones. But in between getting those I'll save up a little more and go bigger, I still have yet to get an MG still..

But all things considering, I'm not doing half bad in terms of merch. I've collected a lot in my just 2 and a half years of liking Gundam.

Just try and get more and more Japanese MSiAs... they are just so much nicer, its worth the extra $5-$10. You still have not gotten an MG? Kyle... I'm ashamed! Just get the ball or something. :P

haha, Believe me I was tempted to get the ball.... >_> Actually I might get an MG very soon, any idea on which one it should be?

Edit: heh nvm, I just found a MG Zaku II Char Custom on Ebay for $25(with shipping) and bought it, and I really like the Zaku II and Char Aznable so it works out quite nicely. I'll still take suggestions for my next MG though, because now that I've made a start I hope to continue buying them at a decent pace from now on.

Awesome, congrats. I don't have ANY Zaku MGs or GM MGs... haha. I need some, I made a list of the MGs I want... there are like 5 Zakus on it. <<

I don't know what kind of order you would want to go in... when I started, I hadn't even seen any Gundam besides Wing and 08th MS Team... yet my first 4 (all at Otakon 2002) were the RX-78-2 1.5, RX-78 NT-1 Alex, RX-79(G) Ez-8, and RX-78 GP-01... obviously going for all of the leading figures of each series (I did my homework pre-convention)... then I after I got most of the "main Gundams", I branched out... then after watching the series, I branched out even more to my favorites... and now more like just anything I like. Maybe try and make a hierarchy of the MS you like most... *shrug*

hehe, wow, and whats sad is thats less than a quarter of my list...>_> I guess I'm going to start with leading Gundams of each series in the order I like most, which would be the Zeta Gundam. Despite that I hear the MG Zeta has weak joints due to the transformation feature, it doesn't stop me, I just love that suit too much. ^^; I also have my eye on the MG Freedom *drools*, it looks so nice especially with that stand it comes with to make mid-air poses.

I think it's possible to get all that stuff, just stop feeding and clothing yourself and you'll be fine. Just focus all of your income on Gundam  :P

Haha, if I focus anymore of my income on Gundam, I think Laura and my parents will kill me.

And yeah, my list could be longer, but those are the ones I want a lot. << Kind of like a list to have when going to a convention, so I don't buy stuff on a whim that I don't really want as much. ^^;; Besides, I do have a lot already.

And yeah, the Zeta does have some weak joints, especially the wings because they are heavy... and the arms. but I somehow got it to hold the Hyper Mega Launcher... Also, the shield always has a tendancy to flip around. >_< But in my opinion, its kit everyone needs. As MGs go... I have the Zeta, Super Gundam, Hyakushiki, and ZZ right next to each other. Oh, and they are all sandwiched between the Mk.II PG and Zeta PG. Talk about a good combo. :)

I've seen a picture of that display before I think, it looked really nice. One day I hope to have a display for every series, for now all I have is my 1/100 God Gundam and 1/100 Aile Strike Gundam posed on my computer desk(along with Cloud, Sephiroth, and those Asuka and Rei garage kit figures). For some reason I normally don't like to pose 1/144 kits, they strike me more as statues(especially since when posed there are too many visable polycaps and such) so I have them in standing positions. But I think next I'll get the Zeta Gundam, Ez8, MK II A.E.U.G, Dom, and the RX-78-2 Ver OYW when it comes out.

And I found the yen prices for the ones you didn't know, these are the prices HLJ lists so if they aren't official then forgive me:
1/100 HG Duel Gundam - 2,200
1/100 HG Gundam Astray Blue Frame - 2,500
1/144 HG Mk.II - 1,000
1/100 Turn 'A' Gundam - didn't have these
1/100 Mobile Sumo (Gold) - didn't have these
Hyakushiki - 1,710

I went to see all those kits but a lot of them weren't on HLJ. I was wondering were I could get them for a fair price. As you might not know I am a Gundam fan I don't do these kits just because I love model kits but also because I love the series and all. But I was wondering were I could get them for a fair price. I mean I ordered a couple of things from HLJ not too long ago but some people tell me that I'll have to pay some major Bucks at the customs is that true any links to some great gundam/macross kits to order?

Well I know a lot of people who shop here http://www.gundamstoreandmore.com/gundam.html and have good things to say about, but I myself I have never purchased anything there. www.discountanimedvd.com (http://www.discountanimedvd.com) also has a pretty good selection with decent prices. But if it were me, I'd just search ebay as you can find very good deals and they pretty much have everything.

Edit: Btw Pete, the first link I listed has the 1/100 Turn A and Mobile Sumo in stock.

Yeah, I actually found that site just recently looking for those two kits, so I knew that. :) But thanks anyway.

And I use HLJ or http://matrixcollectibles.site.yahoo.com/

All of those models are on HLJ by the way, just search by "Category", use the pull down menu and there is a search for just Gundam items... just hit that and its all organized by series and types of kits/figures.

As for prices, Ebay is your best bet for super cheap items, although it could be unsafe... and they often get you on shipping. But in general, if you are shopping from sites online, you will NOT get prices like HLJ. Its dirt cheap since its direct from Japan (retail prices). The only reason it gets a little more expensive is the shipping costs. But if you buy say... 3-6 items, it will be about the same shipping you would pay normally from anywhere else. Get like 1 item, and you'll be paying about $15 for maybe a $18 kit... which is stupid.

At a hobby store near me, all Gundam kits are literally at LEAST twice as expensive as stores online. I have been wanting to ask them how they could sell a GP-01 MG for $75 for quite some time, but I never get around to it.

And prices at conventions are much like at Image Anime (the second site I listed)... so that's a good bet. Plus, the shipping is cheap and I get my orders in less than 2 days due to it being so close. HLJ is more like 7-10 days.

So anyway "bargain" prices on Gundam kits is impossible. Just look for the smallest bullet and bite it.

I have that same problem with the hobby shop I go to, sometimes something as cheap as a HG 1/144 can be up to 40 dollars...eesh. On occasion I find something like a HGUC or Seed 1/144 at a great price, but thats rare. I've actually been meaning to talk to the guy about it, because honestly....he shouldn't be selling MG's for practically PG prices.. -_-; I'm gonna start going hobby shop hunting on the island, I'll have to find at least one decent one.

Ever since gundamshop.com closed I haven't had many alternatives for buying models, and these days the shipping on ebay is ridiculous(sometimes as high as $20 for just an MSIA). And it's not easy convincing my mom to buy from new online stores, at least she was familiar with Gundamshop and they had that Sale page which was really nice. I've been to Image Anime before and was contemplating on whether or not to shop there, but since you say it's good I'll give it a shot. And since it's located in NYC, the shipping speed is bound to be good considering I live an hour away from it. Maybe I'll buy the MK II, since it's pretty cheap and on my list.

Yeah, I have ordered a good 6 times from Image Anime and they have been fantastic. I don't know of any on LI, I think the closest place Laura knows of (to my  knowledge) is Elizabeth St. in the NYC Chinatown (which is awesome).... but not a hobby shop, just lots of anime stores with good prices. She's not too into it though, so I doubt she ever went actually looking for hobby stores. But that is just the Massapequa area...

The hobby shop I go to is in bay shore, which is pretty far from my house but it's the only one i'm aware of. I think I remember you talking about the one in Chinatown, you bought the SD Kamile and Zeta Gundam there if my memory serves me correctly. I might be going into the city soon, perhaps I'll go searching for Gundam kits. But I'll definitely be buying an MG kit from Image Anime when I have the money.

I also found another site with decent prices but they vary from kit to kit(one good be an excellent price, and another could be over priced), and the shipping is pretty good. Ever heard of this one?

Yes, Image Anime is where I usually buy all my stuff from.  Gundam Store and More is a little cheaper sometimes, plus they usually have more of the old stuff.  I'm going to buy the F90 collection from them as soon as I finish putting together the other stuff I have now.  I still haven't finish the PG Strike yet...just been too lazy I guess.  I need to expand my display shelf but I ran out of wall space!  Looks like the other models will have to get a little cozy with each other.

Thanks a lot for all those links. I probably will get a perfect grade soon but I do not know wich one I should. Anyways do you guys know about CUSTOMS prices I mean you know the border thing. Some people have told me I'll have to pay a price when my package reaches the customs.... And really I don't know how much it will be...

I don't remember the site, but chances are I have been there before... and I wish I had better directions on how to get to the anime place on Elizabeth St... but Chinatown is pretty confusing, and both times I had either Laura or Rufus to take me. ^^;; And yeah, I did get the Kamille/Zeta SD there... and the first time I went I got the Wing Ver.Ka.

Oh, here we go... http://members.aol.com/Lampbane/geekspeak/directory-nyc.html

Scroll down to "Elizabeth Street Mall". That's it. :)

So how many do you have? Sounds like you have more than me, which would definitely be a first. I just completely ran out of space as well, I'm going to have to put the PG GP-01fb coming downstairs on top of the TV cabinet cause I have no room for it. ^^;;

With HLJ, that is included with the shipping.

How many models?  55 in total and more to come, after all GSD models have only just begun :P  I guess I can just post my collection here:

2 PG: Strike and Zero
10 MG: all of Seeds and Wings, Ez8, and the non hyper from G Gundam
3 1/60: V2, Stike, Strike Rouge, and Freedom
1/100:  all of seed (and destiny at the moment :P), most of wing and endless waltz, all of G, Nu (old version)
1/144: the endless watlz collection (my first models), and the METEOR from Seed

I'm sure I missed a few.  But I have to admit that I only started to paint my model within the past year so many of them are unpainted.  I'll go back to paint them eventually.  Like I said, I'm going to get the F91 and F90 Silhouette set soon, and maybe a few from Gundam X.  Then I'll have to work on my UC.  I only have 2 UC models.  I want the HI-NU if I can find it.  I wish bandai would make one though.  And I refuse to get any of the Turn-A.  I hate those things!

Ah, ok, nevermind. ^^;; I have a fair amount more, but you do have more than anyone I have met. You're talking about getting whole collections... do you really have that much cash laying around? O_o

Ah, and chalk another 4 down for my birthday, I have the GP-01fb PG, Strike PG, Turn A 1/100, and Mobile Sumo 1/100 on their way. :)

And have you not seen Turn A? I now do not understand when I heard so many people say how awful it was. It rules, its just not cliche Gundam.

Crap, now I'm in 3rd place.. =| Ah well, all the more reason to start catching up. Last year I didn't do so well kits wise, I seemed to concentrate more on other Anime series for a while(got some really great figures out of it though, like the complete Hellsing set) but for '05 I'm off to a great start with Gundam kits and I hope the pace continues year round.

From what I saw of Turn A it seemed like such an excellent series, I liked how it stood out and wasn't too formulaic like some other series in the Gundam universe. And it's made by Tomino, that at least makes it worth a chance because the man is brilliant.

And here is some of my new wish list of kits that I really want, it's only MG and HGUC though because the whole thing is much too big. And Note, this is pretty much the order that I want them but it tends to change depending on my mood, also I've started watching ZZ Gundam via fan sub so it's liable to change due to that as well.

Judau: so how many do you have?  People I know are already giving me grief for buying a lot of models :P

As for buying the F90, well I might get the entire collection, mostly the main ones.  But it's not that big of a set anyway, about 6 I think and they're not as expensive as the others.  They're about $15 each now.

As for Turn-A, I'm watching it right now.  I'm around ep 15 or so, and not too thrilled about watching more.  It's an acquired taste I guess.  I mainly don't like the designs of the mech.  I don't like my Gundams round and with a mushtache!  My friend was making fun of it saying, [in bad french accent] "would you like zum french bread".  Plus so far, imo, the story just doesn't draw you in as other series.  But I'm watching, maybe my mind will change later.

oh I just read the other post, 80!?!?!  Yeah you'll probably always have more than me.  It took me years to get up to 55, so I don't I'll catch up anytime soon.

I do have the F90II-L 1/100, it is a very nice kit, although F90 and F91 (as mentioned in the F91 movie) are quite a bit smaller, so they are right smack in between your basic 1/100 and 1/144. Although, Gundam Wing MS are smaller than UC as well... Zeta and CCA being the largest.

And yeah, after these 4 kits come in, I should be around 80. :) I've been buying kits for... 5 years I guess? Sometimes I would get tons in a short time, other times I would not get any for a while... I think my average number is about 5 or 6 per convention I go to as well, so that helps. ^^;;

When it comes to Turn A, I find it more interesting than other Gundam series (at least AU), as its a completely new base story... its more interesting that way. And I actually started liking the designs more and more, considering you figure after so many years since the other Gundam series, the designs have to change... they can't just look that close to being the same for that long... I guess you can call the Turn A more "refined", as its simpler than others.

Three days ago I received my package from HLJ and I'm so happy I have my gouf custom there just waiting to be started on!!

Since now I am rich (well I can buy models) I was wondering if you could tell me wich PF or MG I could buy. I know you,ve posted almost all the gundams here in this thread already but there are just too many and I just can't start to see them all. So if you have a good choice then tell me!
Title: Re: Upcoming Model/MSIA Releases

Well I'm assuming by PF, you mean a perfect grade...PG.  If you're looking for MG or PG, the recent ones in the past year or so are nice.  It depends which series you like.  I'm a SEED man myself, so I would recommend from that series.  MG Freedom is really nice imo.  The PG Strike is good too.  I still need to put the arms on mine and seal it :P  My two choices for MG has to be Freedom and Wing Zero Custom...you might as well get the Wing Zero Ka while you're at it.  I'm currently looking for a good deal on the MG Zeta and ZZ.  I only have 2 PG (Strike and Zero) so I don't much beyond that.  So whatever it is, it's all about preference...just buy the ones you like.

I really know nothing about MG and PG kits, but I have a site that may be of help. It's going out of business(i think) and everything is on clearence(even brand new kits that were just released) for up to 50% off, I took advantage and got the MG RX-79(G) Gundam($20), HGUC The O($16), and HGUC Rick Dias($8).

A few things were out of stock but they have a lot of good stuff still, anyway here's the link to the Gundam section:

Shiznits... time to go shopping! @_@

Ok, I was thinking of getting the Hi-zack MG, but its a little too much... the thing is with most of the MG sale, is that their normal price was overpriced, so now its normal. I can get it later for that price. But most of the others were 50% off, which was awesome. So I could not hold back, as I did just get a paycheck. << Just a few... although Laura and my parents might kill me anyway, this will be well worth it. Here's what I came out with... attempting to be conservative:

Bearga Girosu (F91) 1/100
Denanzon (F91) 1/100
Gundam F91 Kai (Silouette F91) 1/100
Mobile Flat (Turn A) 1/144
V2 Gundam (V) 1/100
V Gundam (V) 1/100
Neon green Gundam Marker
Akatuki Custom (Nadesico)

All for $70 (Shipping included)... all of them were $11 or less... :) Add 6 more Gundam kits to my list... plus my first Nadesico kit (and they are really tough to find too! Booyakasha!).

Oh, and I doubt they are going out of business.... maybe they just want to sell off their kits for some reason? Nothing is on sale besides some of the model kits... all of the Gundam and the few Initial D, at least. But I looked around and nothing else was. <<

Too bad the MG Zaku II F2 was sold out. :( $20....... ;_;
Title: Re: Upcoming Model/MSIA Releases
Post by: Kairu de Large on February 19, 2005, 11:44:41 AM
hehe, wow what a great haul, glad I was able to help someone. I was also pretty upset about the Zaku II F2 being out of stock, not the mention the friggin MK II being out of stock(20 bucks dammit). But the RX-79(G) Gundam was quite a catch so I'm not complaining, and I'm also excited about The O and Rick Dias.....*_* I also would have liked the prototype Bawoo but it was out of stock(they had the green one though) and the Guntank(5 bucks for christ sake ;_;). I hope that those kits don't go anywhere because I'd like to save up again and buy a lot more since I wasn't that prepared money wise this time. But I finally hit the 20 mark in Gundam models so I'm slowly catching up which is good. I did also notice some kits still overpriced even when discounted, like the MG Ex-S Gundam for example which was $90 I think.

I don't know if I'll get any HGUC next time though, for most of them I'm holding out for the MG version and it'd be a waste to get the 1/144 version instead. I will probably stock up on some F91 kits and maybe I'll get the 1/100 Turn A Gundam because that was pretty damn cheap as well.

Yup, that was a lot of money spent....$104.75.  Pretty much bought all the V Gundams and F90/91.  I hope my order went through ok, since I kept getting errors messages...I better not get a bill for $500!  Now I just need F91S models.  Too bad they didn't have any GSD kits...the 1/60 Impulse would have been nice.

DAMN IT!! I forgot the F91 Kai...I took it out of the cart and forgot to put it back in!!! It was only $12!! :(  I hope the price will stay the same for a while...it's not worth it to buy 1 kit and pay $8 for shipping...

heh, Now only Zellgadus has to buy a bunch of kits and that site will have made everyone happy.  :) The only Seed kits I have are the 1/100 Aile Strike Gundam and 1/144 Freedon Gundam, I have so much friggin work ahead of me... o_o But the 1/100 HG Seed kits are great, very detailed on their own and and excellent articulation. The 1/144 Seed kits on the other hand are...heh...nice looking statues if you paint them entirely.  :P But they are also only $4 so you can't really expect much more, thats practically first grade prices.

Oh and I finally finished MG Char's Zaku II, god was it ever nerve racking! o.O The pipes were the worst, especially on the head...you had to slide a metal spring over a rod of plastic then slide each individual little piece of plastic over it, then (without having any pieces fall off) push them in a tiny hole which was near impossible because you had no grip(the pieces kept moving). *sigh* Gave me such a migraine, but thank god it's over and done with. ._.

Aside from the agonizing build, the finished product looks nice...however I doubt I'm going to build another MG Zaku II kit for a long time after that experience. On the bright side I was happy to see that I'm getting better at dry transfers, and the painting of the tiny Char pilot figure and monoeye came out good too.

Well, I don't know... it might just be those old ones... My Sazabi and Gouf Custom both have those things and they contain no springs of any sort... they were not difficult. So chances are the newer Zaku IIs (like the F2s) are probably different.

Yeah thats what I was thinking as well, it was only the second MG ever made after all. I was still pretty frustrated when I sent that message, because honestly it wasn't that horrible just annoying and I'm sure I'd be able to do it better a next time. But I think you are right, I remember a lot of people saying that the metal springs were too much detail(if that were possible) so maybe they scrapped it over time. But it's highly possible that other early Zaku II's like the Johnny Ridden and Shin Matsunaga customs have the metal springs, so when you get them let me know.

My only real dissapointment was that it had no internals to build(unless you count the head), but thats understandable since it was released almost 10 years ago.

Edit: heh, I just noticed my post count is 666 now, i r teh hardc0re!

I was wondering if in that site the 1/60 Freedom model is any good. I mean it isn't an MG or PG but I wanted to know if the quality was any good.
Thanks!

I've heard the 1/60 SEED kits are pretty good... true they don't have the quality of an MG or PG, but the price reflects that. I assume the outside quality is plenty good, though. I would say give it a shot. I was going to get the 1/60 Strike w/Weapons System, but now that I'll have the PG, I have no reason to.

And the F91 Kai 1/100 was sold out and didn't say... so I did not get that. :( It was so cheap and badass too. ;_;

Yeah that disappointed me as well, I was planning on getting that next time in the event that I did end up ordering from them a second time. It is true that is bad ass, and they don't have the fecking F91 either so that was going to be my alternative.... DAMMIT >.<.

But does that mean that you got your order already or just got that info from an e-mail or something of the sort? Because I didn't yet, I also still haven't gotten my gundam markers which is really starting to both frustrate and worry me.  :-\

Oh good...I don't feel as bad for not putting the Kai in the basket :P  But I also had an item sold out.  I didn't get the V2 Buster...so much for having all the gundams from that series.  I got the email confirmation yesterday so it should be here within a week.  Man I going to have back up building to do.  Oh and about the 1/60 Seed models.  I have them and they're quite good.  It's almost like an enhance 1/100.  The details are better and they have better articulations in the feet and hands.  I'm still holding on getting the 1/60 Impulse for fear that they might release another version like they did for Strike, eventhough it's unlikely since they would need to include three different torso.  But you never know...

Hey I just got the stuff that I ordered!  Just in time too since I'm about to (finally) wrap up my PG Strike.  Though Chaos was next in line.  I didn't realize how different the older models were.  The ones from F90 is so simple.  And I've never seen one that had the torse like 80% complete already.  They shouldn't take more than 30 min to put together...but paiting will probably be a pain.  Oh the masking...*sigh*  And of all the models that I've done, I've never had more trouble than mixing the Seed blue color.  I don't know why.  I usually end up wasting a bit of paint.  I still have some left from the PG, but not enough to paint 4 models.  Looks like I'll be wasting a lot of cobalt blue.

Mine came today too, they shipped pretty fast. Anyway I built The O and it's incredible for a HG! I swear that it's on par with MG kits(the ones on the simpler side anyway) and it's almost as tall, it took me quite a while to build as well. Plus there is really no need to paint anything at all other than small details(which you could even get away with over looking), even the mono-eye was pink plastic and it came with no decals. And since my whole family(minus me) is going to NJ for most of the weekend I'll probably build my MG kit and the others if I have enough free time.

heh, most kids would throw a party in that situation, but here I am spending my weekend alone building Gundam models...what a loser I am.. :P

meh...once you're in college, parties are different.  Or you could just throw yourself a model building party and only invite yourself :P  Anyway, my F90 and V Gundam kits are no where near MG :(  They're hardly a match for the Seed HG.  I'm trying to decide that maybe I'll be too lazy to paint them.  I'll see.  But the V2 Assualt does look cool...even better when painted I'm sure.  I would to do these models pretty quick.  Things are getting backed up, plus I want to be able to build the new GSD models when they come out...OHHHhhhh so this is where all my money goes... :)

I just finished Building painting my SD strike with all the weapons set and it's SOOO COOL"!!!

I made a few adjustments and well it's nicer than before.
The real problem with this model was the jet that delivers the guns and stuff. It was such a cheap ass thing. Anyways... It rocks..

Yeah, mine came yesterday too... and since my Turn A and Mobile Sumo came a few days before, I built my Turn A... very nice kit. And yeah, I knew about the F90 kits from when I built my F90II-L... interesting chest pieces, eh? Are the F91 kits like that as well? They are older. The F90 kits were considered the first "real HG kits" even though they don't say "HG" on the box... so I am not expecting anything great from the Victory or F90 kits, but that's why they are cheap. *shrug* Plus, since in F91, they have "small scale mobile suits", the 1/100s are seriously just a little larger than normal 1/144s... so they can't be too detailed.

Heh, I went to Otakon 2002, got maybe 8 kits, and my family went directly to Ocean City, NJ for the week right after... I built 5 of the kits while there. ^^;; (I brought my model building stuff because I figured that's how it would go down)

Haha, I'll remember that for my next family vacation.. :P

And I should be making my second on final order from HOA very soon, and I've decided to get the HGUC Zeta Gundam, Hyaku Shiki, MK II Titans, and if I have enough then the Quebeley as well. I know I should be holding out for the MG version of all of those, but I just can't resist with the thought of a spiffy Z Gundam display on my computer desk luring in my mind... now that I've seen how nice The O is. Plus, I like all of those suits enough to buy them a second time in MG form. Another thing to put into consideration is that I'll be getting a job pretty soon, so buying MG kits won't be such a hard task anymore, so I figure while I have a bit of money that I got on my own I'll buy a bunch of 1/144s while they are still cheap.

I'll be able to re-create the final battle from Z, and even a little one from the first episodes with the Rick Dias and MK II....looks like I'll have to start sacrificing some room. ^^;

Well I sent the order last night, I stocked up on all the Zeta models I said I'd be getting. But I don't think I'm getting the Rick Dias, since it's not even listed on the site anymore..yet they never said they wouldn't be sending it which is strange. Ah well, I'll have plenty of kits to keep me busy, one less won't matter(even if the Rick Dias is one spiffy mech). And The O is easily one of my favorite kits, I think you'll be pleased if you get it.

And over the weekend I finished the MG RX-79(G), and it's definetely my favorite MG kit (if not favorite all around kit) out of the owns that I own. I was very happy that the "08" came out perfect because thats the one that matters most, the others came out decent but I don't understand why it has a "EFSF" logo when it's a ground combat mobile suit.. ??? And I know I said I wouldn't be getting the Z Gundam box set but after seeing it in the store it's simply something that I can't pass up. And I'm getting a job at the very store I saw it so I'll get a discount when I purchase it.  :)

Heh, cool... the Rick Dias is a good kit, I have the 1/144 Char version, and I have to say it looks pretty nice. I need to get both MGs. <<

Yeah, I like both that and the Ez-8. I actually have always liked the RX-79(G) more than the Ez-8, but for a while, I could not find the MG of the RX-79(G) anywhere... so I ended up geting the Ez-8 first. And maybe since the Gundam was the prototype and was EFSF, maybe the RX-79(G)s were still technically part of the EFSF, rather than just the Earth Federation? I don't know.

Cool, I like it a lot, like I said, the only issue I have is that the openings and endings were not kept in tact (so I'll be keeping my bootlegs forever). Heh, all of the pencil sharpeners are sitting here in front of my monitor.... ^_^

Where will you be working?

I'll be working at Suncoast in the sunrise mall, feel free to stop in if you're in the neighborhood.  :P

And I have the bootlegs too so the absence of the openings and endings doesn't bother me, at least I'll have the series in a more preservable form so I can share it with my children one day. I'm also curious about the 48 page book which was written by Mark Simmons(if I'm not mistaken), I have no clue where I'll put the sharpeners or poster though...^^: Perhaps I'll just steal your idea and put them on my monitor.

Well I finally got around to putting some of the models I got together.  I stared with Victory Gundam (appropriate considering I'm watching the series right now and I'm loving it so far!), and yeah, the F90 and V series are quite small.  I know the UC MS were bigger up until F91, but I thought they would be the same size as the alternate universe models.  I mean my 1/100 Nu Gundam was almost as big as a 1/60.  Well I got to say that the models have come a long way.  The joints are a little revealing...and yellow...?  Not that I don't like them.  The V2 Assault is a cool looking model.  I also did the Chaos Gundam, and well it looks cooler in the show.  I'm still waiting on the next set of GSD models.  I thought they would release all the Impulse first instead of releasing the three Zaku types.  So I guess I'll have to wait till early summer till I get all the Impulses.

Cool, I have not gotten around to it yet... and I'm watching Victory right now as well... I did not like the first 5 episodes or so... at all. But now its really turning out to be a good series... we'll see. :) Oh, and the CCA MS were the biggest ever which would explain why it seems so large next to your Strike and Wing Zero Custom PGs... as they are both small AU MS... next to the Zeta or Mk.II, I doubt the Nu would look as big, my Sazabi is still a good 3-4 inches smaller.

The Strike and Zero PG are small?  That would explain one of the reason why PG Zeta is so expensive.  I need to get more UC models.  And yeah I didn't like the begining of V Gundam either.  It was confusing and the story telling was weird, but once they got past the flashbacks and Usso piloting more it got pretty good.  And man those Shuraiku (is it suppose to be Shrike?) team just started decreasing one by one...a real shame how they died.  I'm only around ep 15 or so, but I already hate Shakti.  I can't quite explain it, but her character is just unappealing.  Why is it that the main character's love interests are annoying most of the time in a gundam series...

All right I will, it'd be really cool if I could meet you guys.  :) And yeah Bandai of America is really bad with UC releases, the 0079 DVD's didn't even have the sub.

And I thought I'd be watching V Gundam by now, but the torrents at AnimeSuki for both ZZ and V aren't working. So I'm going to have to buy the bootlegs if i want to finish ZZ and start V, which i wanted to avoid. Right now I'm watching Gundam X, which is pretty good so far...but now I have more kits I want to buy.. ^^; And I finished all my kits so I have quite a spiffy Zeta Gundam display on my desk now, and all 4 kits were great and I don't mind that I didn't buy the MG's.

I can think of two mains that never annoyed me right off the bat, Four and Tiffa Adill. I do loves me Gundam X.

I loved Four, and once upon a time I didn't like Tifa but I like her now. And if Sayla Mass counts then I liked her too, Aina Sahalin and Cecily Fairchild weren't bad either.

Just get the torrents from boxtorrents.  They were there last I checked.  Personally, I didn't like Tifa.  I mean shy is one thing, but she was just way too timid for my liking.  Lunamaria is the one of the few characters that I like right from the start.  Anyway, man my V Gundam models would look strange on the display.  It's not small enough to be next to the 144 but not big enough for 1/100.  Though I was impressed (given the age) with the models being able to "transform" like it does in the show.  I also need to get the Gundam X models, but only a few of them since I didn't really like the MS in that series.  I also need to get Z and ZZ.  Plus I want the Ex-S but damn that thing is pricey!  But later, it's not like I don't have enough to build at the moment.  And what do you guys think of Destiny Gundam?  It looks like a fan created one to me.  Just a Freedom with Sword and Launcher Strike's weapons.  It would look better without those I think.  But I still want it!  And it better have those beam wings thingy like the intro!
Title: Re: Upcoming Model/MSIA Releases

Thanks! It's been killing me inside that I wasn't able to finish ZZ, I really like this series despite what some may think.

I like Tifa, but who knows if that'll change since I'm not very far in the series. And I like Lunamaria a lot as well, pretty much from the first time she appeared.
And a lot of people say that regular 1/100s are too big and 1/144s are too small for their tastes, but they say the V 1/100s are a perfect size. But I myself have none, so I really don't know how they look with other kits to make a suggestion for your display.

And honestly I was disappointed with the Destiny Gundam, I was expecting so much more with all the hype it got. It looks similar to the Impulse(slightly) and it's arms look like the G Gundam's, thats really my only impression of it right now. I'll need to actually see it in the series to get a full opinion. But I still want it, the same with all the other GSD models but I don't even have the GS models yet..grr so much work to do.

Yeah, right, Bandai will never release any Sentinel kits as PGs, they are just not popular enough... and the Ex-S would have to be like 30,000 yen. The Mk.V MG, though... you can keep hoping for that.

Of course they are small, all Wing and Strike kits are a little smaller than UC, as the scales in the anime are different. And Zeta, ZZ, and CCA MS are even bigger... Yeah, it is the Shrike team. They were pretty cool, no? Too bad for the one who bit it holding the track. >_< Shakti is damn annoying, who wants a character who keeps running away just so the main character has to chase after her... then they get in trouble with enemies EVERY TIME. What a little bitch she is.

I can think of two mains that never annoyed me right off the bat, Four and Tiffa Adill.  I do loves me Gundam X.

I didn't like Tifa. At all. Too quiet. I like Gundam X, but not Tifa. Four though... she's the coolest. Aina would be my other favorite "main character's love".

I don't think Sayla could be considered one, that would be up to Lahla, me thinks... and maybe what's her name from Zeta... and the other whats her name from CCA. ^^;; Amuro is a pimp.

Beltorchika(Z) and Chan(CCA) were their names, and agreed Amuro is a pimp.  :P And I was listing Sayla because in Zeta Gundam Fraw asks Amuro if he still loves Sayla and in the end of 0079 it at least seemed as if Sayla had a thing for Amuro. Lalah is more appropriate I guess, but I didn't really like her all that much.

Thanks for the names, I could not remember them and I was far too lazy at the time to look them up. I forgot about Fraw asking Amuro that in Zeta... but I still doubt he ever did like her. Sayla like Amuro? Yeah, I think the end really showed that... although it never escalated much. But if we are talking Amuro love in 0079, I say it goes to Lahla for sure... you could even argue Fraw in the beginning a little... but that was a dead end.

hehe, Freedom is giving them a "Grand Slam"(what a horrible pun), take that Dennys! And I know he is protecting Dennys, but in my imagination I'd like him to destroy it because I tire of seeing their commercials when there aren't any on the island(to my knowledge they're just in NJ).

Anyway, some new kit news from Gunota:

"This month's new kit news UPDATED
MG Ball K Type (08th MS Team version, May, 2,520 yen)
1/144 Destiny Gundam (June, 630 yen)
PG Aile Grasper (June, 5,250 yen)
"
Pete, I remember us talking about the PG Aile Grasper sort of recent, so thats good news for you and it's not too expensive. The Ball sounds neat but I want the Ver. Ka more, but who knows.

Haha, Denny's is not only in NJ... its nation wide (and maybe in Canada too, not sure)... but I did just look on their site and it looks like the closest are in NJ and CT... but there are plenty in NY, just not even close to you. Odd.

Anyway, that's cool that the orange ball is coming out, and I'm really psyched about the Aile Grasper PG.... I guess enough people asked for it or something. Although I had some technical difficulties getting the PG Strike, so I can't get it yet anyway. :-\

I meant NJ is the closest place to me that has some, but I didn't exactly make it all that clear in what I wrote..^^:

And that sucks about the Strike, did your PG Gp-01 at least make it ok?

Nope. << But shhhh, Laura is embarrassed about the whole thing, so I'd rather not drag it on. ^^;; I'll get them eventually anyway. :-\ I just feel bad.

Oh, Ok.  :-X I won't mention it again.

Well to make this less of a spam post, here is an uppdate from the previous new kits list from Gunota:
"This month's new kit news UPDATED AGAIN
MG Ball K Type (08th MS Team version, May, 2,520 yen)
1/144 Destiny Gundam (May, 630 yen)
PG Aile Grasper (June, 5,250 yen)
1/100 Blaze & Gunner Zaku Warrior (green, with both Wizard packs?, May, 3,150 yen)

Reposting this in a revised version as it seems yesterday's info from hobby magazines was invalidated by the appearance of actual proof (ie., pics) contradicting it.

Edit: Hobby Japan also stuck up a notice on their official website announcing their magazine erred in listing the release date of the 1/144 Destiny as June. The actual release will be towards the end of May. "

Hello, everybody I've been out for a while doing all of those gundams that I ordered and they all came out pretty cool. I am currently preparing a new order and those 2 pack of 1/100 zakus sound cool! Furthermore I am astounded at the non-stopping releases of HLJ anyways that all I had to say.

Well the Lunamaria Zaku is out...I'm just debating whether to get it or not.  Well rephrase that...I'm just debating on if I should get it now or wait till the Zaku Phantom is out and buy them at the same time.  Haven't really been in the mood to paint models lately.  Hell I still have all those I bought last time.  Even though I know that I'll probably end up buying it tomorrow... :P

Nope it doesn't, but you know how bandai is with repaints...they never pass up a chance to re-use a mold and profit from it no matter how ridiculous and pointless it is.

And yes the EMSIA Zeta looks really cool, I will definitely buy that along with any other Zeta items they release. Never can have enough Zeta stuff.. :)

I also like the HGUC Nemo... yay for more Zeta MS. ^_^

Amazon has lots of kits on clearence:
But before I mention any, THEY HAVE THE PG CHAR'S ZAKU FOR 40 BUCKS.
Now with that said, the rest...
MG Kampfer - $19.97
MG Gp-02a - $19.97
MG Ez-8 - $14.97
MG GP-01fb - $14.97
MG Ground Gundam - $14.97
MG RX-78-2 Ver. 1.5 - $9.97
MG GM - $9.97
MG Char's Zaku II - $9.97
MG Zaku II - $9.97
MG Gp-01 - $9.97

I suggest everyone go for that Perfect Grade Zaku, thats like the chance of a life time to get a PG that cheap. I bought it as soon as I saw it, along with the Ez-8 and GM. You may have to do some hunting for the Zaku's(PG and MG's) and the Gp-01 but I assure you they're on the site. Enjoy.  :)

I saw it also but I wouldn't buy it for a simple reason. I once bought the heavyarms special edition it was suposed to shine and all of the parts were transparent. Little problem: if you didn't cut the pieces in a perfect way it would be seen since the difference was so big. In the end it's best to paint it and to start from scratch to create the same thing and you save some money.

But the only pieces that are transparent are where ever there will be light shining through... this is not one of those shitty "crystal" kits like you are talking about. Most of the kit is just a normal 1/60, like the other SEED kits made before... this one just has lights spidered throughout into all of those glowing gold joints and chest piece... those clear pieces will look fine because they are surrounded with regular pieces.

I may get it for my birthday, I haven't decided yet as I've been debating whether or not I want it since it was first announced. I would definetly let you know how it is though, with pics...hell I'll even get a video up of it.  :) All I know is that all the gold pieces and all the cameras in the head will light up, should be interesting.

And thanks a bunch for the tip on the MGs, but I have a PG and 2 MGs still sitting in the box... >_> Plus this is the first christmas where I have had a girlfriend, so I really need all the money I can get right now.

I just finished this old old 1/144 RX-78 kit from 1980, it's pretty neat...it came with a magazine I bought in NYC. To be blunt, it looks and fits together like crap, but it looks JUST like it did in the Anime which gives it it's charm.

I'll try to find someone who has it since I am into modelling and kit assembling.

Lol, I understand you'll need all the money you can find. as for this old RX-78, it probably is crappy since you didn't even take the time to tell us all about it as you usually do.

Out of order : I was wondering if you guys were interested in seeing some japanese episode of Kit building (gundam specifically) that I have they aren't subbed or anything but it's worth the look. If you are ever interested pm me and We'll see how I can give em to you.

Heh, we have all seen pics of the original model kit that spawned them all. They were indeed very crappy compared to today's standards... but they also had over 25 years to get better. They had to start somewhere. And what is there to say? It's the worst 1/144 Gundam kit produced, I am sure it's way too simple to say much more about it. ^^;; But, I also do understand the charm it has.

Title: Re: Upcoming Model/MSIA Releases
Post by: Kairu de Large on November 30, 2005, 11:37:10 AM
Lol, Sorry I didn't say much, but like Judau said what could I say?  :P It's the most horrible kit I have ever seen, but I suppose I can still give a little writeup...
- Assembly: Some serious work is required to get this thing together, some parts were kind of warped and wouldn't fit togther. Alot of sanding and puttying was needed to fix it, also had a lot of flash that had to be cut off. It's assebled in a way where you can use glue but still have it move. It sort of used a primative form of the poly cap system but it doesn't work well at all. This of course brings you to....

-Articulation: Literally, almost none. The arms are supposed to move at the torso, they don't. The head was supposed to be able to move, it can't. The legs are really loose, he usually falls foward a bit because the upper body is so heavy. They are also completely straight and can't be posed to make them not be, it looks silly. It's essentially a crappy looking statue.

Other than that all that can be said is that painting was a pain,  and no matter what I really couldn't be satisfied with it. I wouldn't have sold it  though, it wouldn't have been worth it as the original one doesn't sell for much and this is something anyone can get if they wanted by just buying the magazine(it was only $8). If I had kept it in the box and then if I thought to sell it far in the future, maybe it would have been worth something but doing that is just not me. Besides, I also wanted this kit for myself, not because I like it really but just to have it. So yeah, that was basically my "It sucked" in many words review. ^^; I'll still take a pic to show you though.

And yes I would be very interested in seeing that, stuff like that amuses me, so I'll give you a pm.  :)

They show some nice tricks/tips/cheap ways to adjust a crappy kit into something amazing. Sometimes they don't even paint them. Well I just got my Strike Freedom Lighting today.  I just flipped through the manual, and damn the inside wiring of this thing looks like it's going to be a pain.  So many wires, metal plates, and bulbs.  It's bad enough that I usually semi-put parts together, take them apart, paint them, and finally put them together; now I'll have to mess with the wires too.  But looking at the pictures of the finished results, this thing is going to be cool.  I think the lights turn on when you plug in the stand (that's where the batteries are), but I don't see an on/off switch.  I hope I don't have to keep taking out the batteries (3 AA/AAA...I can't tell from the pics).  Anyway, since I don't have the time to really do it, hopefully I can get it done in a month :(

Alright, I've been in a Gundam mood lately, so I've been keeping up on a lot of the releases recently... I've gotta say, I cannot wait to get the 2.0 versions of the Mk.II and Zeta, they both look awesome... and just seeing the new Zeta on a stand much like the one that comes with the Strike MG... wow, totally badass. Not sure where I will put it, but it looks awesome.

Also, a bunch of new HCM Pros have been released, including again... finally, the Zeta Gundam (which transforms, of course).

While it was released a while ago, did I ever mention how cool the MG Acguy looked? Probably my favorite amphibious suit besides the Z'Gok, it looks totally awesome... although it seems pricey since it's smaller than most other MGs that price.

And since I have been watching G and Wing again lately... I do have to say I wish they wouldstart to broaden the MG scope again... Even for those who hated G Gundam, I think everyone would have to agree that the G MGs were a nice treat and they even helped push newer kits like the 2.0 Zeta kits... I would like more of those. Also, maybe the rest of the Wing Ver.Kas (or even the Endless Waltz crew) would be awesome. Maybe the Turn A and Mobile Sumo... maybe even cross more into non-animated Gundam besides Sentinel and do an MG Crossbone. I just think it's time for some more wide ranged MGs, since they have done so many great UC suits (and by all means, I would love to see more Zeta baddies)... oh, not to mention they are getting behind on SEED Destiny... I'd prefer not to buy the 1/100s and just stick to the MGs, but I am getting sick of waiting for the MGs that will obviously eventually come.
