lol, This is a full time hobby and I dedicate all my money to it basically, but when Judau posts his it will make mine look minuscule.  :P

You should still post yours tho, I'm always interested to see that there are Gundam fans out there and curious what their collection looks like.  :)

Heh, sorry Kyle. ;)

And yeah, I want to see what other people have too. :)

But, I am in LI right now, so I don't have my kits OR my already made list nice and handy... so I'll post my list when I get home. Although, I will say that a few weeks ago I finished my PG Mk.II, MG Ex-S, MG Aile Strike, and MG RX-78-4. :) They all look great. ;D

I wish I could start a Gundam collection, but I don't get a allowance, and except for the random times i'm offered a tough ass chore to get $20, I don't get money at all.. x_x Ever since I saw the Linkin Park video for "Somwhere I Belong" I've wanted a couple Gundam Models...

One question though.. Is there a gundam model kit for Kira's gundam.. That gundam is my favorite of all time, and I'd love to have it.. If there is, how much is it?

I only have $20, so I won't be able to afford it.. Though that thing looks badass.. Maybe I can look for some more things to do to earn it..

Hmm... it just seems like a waste to get the normal one without the conversion parts... maybe just get the 1/100 for now and maybe ask for the 1/60 w/Conversion Parts for Christmas or something... since it is fairly expensive. However, considering its size, it seems cheap. 1/60 is usually reserved for Perfect Grade (PG) models, which range from $125 to $220... but note the Strike is NOT a PG (or even MG), its just a really large HG. Still worth the money, though. :)

Like I said in the Gundam Seed thread, I'll get the 1/100 Sword Strike Gundam, then when christmas or my birthday (July 22nd) comes around, I'll see about getting the 1/60 Strike Gundam Striker Weapon System.

Very nice list judau, I'm catching up I suppose... ^^;;

I actually would rather buy all 3 1/100 Strike kits, since you can only display one at a time on the 1/60. And the lowest price i've seen it is $80, so it's actually cheaper to just buy the 3 1/100 kits. I own the 1/100 Aile Strike and it's great and I was very satisfied with the details I added(still looks pretty good on it's own). But NEVER BUY THE 1/144 SEED KITS! The term you get what you paid for really comes back to bite you in the ass with them. I got the 1/144 Freedom at a hobby store and i spent days working on it and it still doesn't look that good. They are molded in 4 colors at best and they don't have articulation at the elbows or knees. If you see a Strike kit at someplace like target cheap don't buy it.

I saw the 1/144 Strike Gundam at walmart, and I was like, "what the hell? I can't believe its that small.. and it looks horrible!" Right now I have cross feelings about getting the sword strike..

I can either get the sword strike, that once i'm done putting it together, can never move again unless I want to put it in another stance, OR I can get this cool computer game, and a black corvette model car..

Can someone please convince me that getting the sword strike gundam is better then the other..

Huh, yeah, interesting idea... but I don't need all 3 at once, I prefer size over that anyway. Plus, I don't really like the Sword and Launcher all that much, so I would only get it for the Aile parts. One, nice, large, Aile Strike Gundam. :)

And yeah, the 1/144s do suck ass, they are way worse than the Gundam Wing 1/144s, and those are bad enough.

I can either get the sword strike, that once i'm done putting it together, can never move again unless I want to put it in another stance, OR I can get this cool computer game, and a black corvette model car..

Well its your choice if you keep it in the same pose... you could move it around every day if you wanted to, the 1/100 has enough possibilities. And a computer game that is that cheap... can't be that good. << I have nothing against you getting a Vette model, though... not my choice in cars, but I do have my favorites. ^^;;

I hope I don't dissapoint you, but I'm not too knowledgeable about this stuff, though I'm trying.  If I had more time, I'd definitely watch more than what I have watched.  Pete is trying to get me to see everything...though, it's not that I don't want to see it, I just wish I had more time. ^^;  But I'll catch up!! Or I'll try to catch up! Guaranteed!! ^_^

Besides <<; I don't think Pete would allow me to be his gf any longer than now if I weren't willing to watch the other Gundam series. ^^; I would be shunned by him. -_-; But thank you for the encouragement, I appreciate it! ;D

Haha, damn right... you better be coming back to the Gundam forum. ^_^ And yeah, you have not seen a lot, but you know how cool UC is, and you have seen a little, that's always good. ;) And I'd note that your 1/100 RX-78-2 is the original MG version... you're Deathscythe Hell 1/100 is the DH Custom, and you also have the 1/100 Epyon and 1/100 Altron (even though I know it broke and you lost its head ^^;;) So you're list is not that bad, like I told you... you have the most kits I know of besides Kyle... although, does Nayuki have more than you? Maybe by 1 or 2...

Oh, and as a side not, Kyle, did you ever get that job at Hot Topic? Or did that fall through?

Heh, and back on topic, I still have to build my MG Z'Gok, MG Gelgoog, and MG Kampfer... I guess I'll do that once you leave for China, Ruri... ^^;;

And yes, the Sazabi... I should strip Rufus of his, he just does NOT treat it right. >_<

Nope, didn't work out. It's ok, I'd rather not work at a store all the preps go to anyway....I like avoiding them in the summer. So I don't know what I'm gonna do this summer...prolly loaf around and use the computer..  :P

Heh, but what I have seen, the Sunrise mall is the least prepyish of all of the malls in the area... eh, too bad I probably won't be back down there any time soon... I was already down there 2 times for a week each so far this summer... :-\

I got the SD GP-03D kit today at Toys 'R' Us for only $8... awesome. Its my first American kit, too. ^^;; At least they are the same thing as the imports... except usually more expensive.

Not yet, I might get it eventually... and yeah, of course there are. :P

I have the Zeta Gundam and Gundam Mk.II PGs, but there are also the RX-78-2, Char's Zaku II, Zaku II, a Gundam Mk.II with Titans colors, GP-01/GP-01fb, and there is even a PG of Eva Unit 01. So... that's 9, or 10 if you get two GP-01s, since you can make one or the other.
Title: Re:Post your Gundam Collection
Post by: ZeroRyoko1974 on July 15, 2004, 03:35:46 PM
are they as expensive as the Wingzero one?  Is there a perfect grade to the regular wingzero?  Personally the import ones I have put together, I always felt were of better quality then the domestic ones.
Title: Re:Post your Gundam Collection

are they as expensive as the Wingzero one?  Is there a perfect grade to the regular wingzero?  Personally the import ones I have put together, I always felt were of better quality then the domestic ones.

The Eva Unit 01 is about $80, the RX-78-2 and the Zaku IIs are about $110, the Mk.IIs are about $135, the Wing Zero Custom is about $160, and the Zeta and GP-01/GP-01fb are about $185. Those are all retail though... good luck finding those prices here... and they have high shipping costs due to their size and weight. So no, there is not a normal Wing Zero, and I highly doubt any other Wing PGs will emerge within the next 5 years... my bet is perhaps a NT-1 Alex from 0080, a Nu-Gundam from Char's Counterattack, and probably a Strike Gundam from Gundam SEED are up next... Usually the nicer kits are for UC (Universal Century), since there is a much larger fan base for it in Japan... with good reason. So there is only the one Wing PG (and an Eva one), 6 G Gundam MGs, 2 SEED MGs, and 1 Wing MG... all of the rest are UC (I don't even know how many, my guess would be around 60). So you see, AU is really not a big focus, although SEED has been getting some decent treatment lately. I can't wait for the Freedom Gundam MG, the Aile Strike is fantastic.

Oh, and as for the domestic kits... they are basically the same thing. The only differences seem to be the boxes (the US ones are crappy and they have that incredibly stupid rating system), they come with different instructions (right when they got released here, they had the normal instructions and box, but they put English stickers on the box over the Japanese and threw in a black and white English version of the instructions), and I have noticed that the 1/100 Wing kits with beam weapons have non-transparent pieces, so you need to paint them. The Japanese Wing 1/100s are transparent colored, so they look more like a beam weapon, and you don't have to paint them. That's all I have heard/found... anything I am missing from those who have built more American kits? I just built the 1/144 Deathscythe Hell right when it came out here, the Altron 1/100 like a year after that, and I just got the SD GP-03D, that I have yet to build. So mostly, they are the same, but I still prefer to get the Japanese kits. Plus, American distrubuters have a habit of over charging. I'm not stupid, I know the prices for basically everything, so if I get "fooled", its because I just want it NOW rather than later. ^^;;

I finished my MG Gelgoog and I just bought the MG Wing Gundam Ver.Ka... as well as a small SD figure of Camille that you can put armor on to make him look like Zeta Gundam... pretty sweet. ^_^ I got them at this place on Elizibeth Street in NYC's Chinatown... there are about 5 stores in this little underground shopping center that all sell tons of Gundam kits for *good* prices. It was awesome. I can't wait to go back with a ton of money. ;) I highly suggest any of you go if you are ever in NYC.

I've seen that Camile of ebay in the past, very cool. My mom is taking my sister shopping in the city for school, I think I'll tag along and make her take me to china town.

Well target has moved all Gundam products into clearence, so I thought I'd stock up on some while they are cheap. I got 1/144 Freedom Gundam, i thought it was a 1/100 kit since it's original price was 18 bucks(O_O for a HG??) and the slapped a Skill Level 4 sticker on it. But luckily I only payed 8, which is cheaper than I would have gotten had it been an import. I also got the Arch Enemy series RX-78-2(very nice) and for reasons I don't know I got the God Gundam with Fuunsaiki(which is pretty bad to say the least).

I also found a HGUC Guncannon for $13 in a Hobby shop and along with that I invested in Testors paints, I felt the Gundam markers just weren't doing their job anymore. I'm finally building the 1/144 Kampfer I bought months ago and it's my first attemp at completely painting a Gundam model. So far it looks great and I can't wait to see how it is when I'm finished.

Oh and before I forget I got the Buster Gundam MSIA, finally found one in a target further away from the one I frequent. I have a feeling it's the last new domestic MSIA I'll ever find.

Awesome, I really want that... so beautiful. ^_^

and for reasons I don't know I got the God Gunam with Fuunsaiki(which is pretty bad to say the least).

Haha... god, I'll never buy that. ^^;;

Make sure you try to take some updated pictures once you finish the Kampfer 1/144, I cannot wait to see it. ^^

And yeah... domestic MSiAs... does it really matter if you find them or not? They are crap. Haha...

hehe, that it is. I really like the transforming core fighter, but sadly using the core block is the only way to assmeble the body to the legs so it can't be displayed seperate from the Gundam.

The Kampfer is actually coming out alot better than I thought it would, I might have pics by the weekend.

Well domestic releases are convenient and much more common and cheaper(unfortunately in quality as well) on ebay. I can never afford imports, the shipping is too much usually. I'm pretty much done with the MSIA, I got a huge set on ebay and it had most of the ones I wanted. I'm moving back to models, I have a lot more free time now. I still can't afford 1/100 kits however, but I'm fine with HG's for now.

Yeah, it would have been a wise choice to throw in a non-transformable Core Fighter like the MG has... :-\ Oh well...

Yeah, the domestic releases do suck... I almost got the SD Nuel Ziel today from Toys R Us for 6 bucks... I decided against it because I would trust the import to be better quality. Also, if you are looking to get kits on Ebay, you might as well get the imports... the prices are actually pretty decent on ebay. I got my ZZ Gundam MG for about $35 and my GP-02a MG for about $30 (those are WITH shipping). Pretty sweet...

Anyway, I am going to the Jersey shore tomorrow, so I might end up getting a few MSiAs for the hell of it while I am down there... not sure though.

Yeah, you had to assemble the Core Fighter though, and it was an injection system(just like regular kits). It's really detailed tho, clear cockpit with a little Amuro inside.

I almost got the SD Neue Ziel a couple of times myself, but always would rather save my money for something else. Although my friend has it and it's not bad at all, pretty detailed. I don't care whether a model is imported or domestic really, if I see a nice one in a store near me I'll get it since it will be cheaper(no shipping) and so I don't have to wait for it to come in the mail. For now I'm still just buying HG's, maybe I'll stock up on a few 1/100's with my birthday money.

May I recomend the Rick Dias(black) and Hyakushiki with Mega Bazooka Launcher that were just released. The Dom ver. 2 doesn't look bad either.  ;)

Yeah, I really want the black MG Rick Dias... and I just saw pics of the Hyakushiki with the Launcher a few weeks ago... I drooled for a while, maybe worth getting... even though I have the MG and SD. Have not seen the Dom ver.2 yet, though.

And here are the latest pics of my room, you can see the RX-78-4 MG, Aile Strike MG, GP-03D SD, Kampfer MG, Gelgoog MG, Z'Gok MG, Ex-S MG, Wing Ver.Ka MG, Mk.II PG, the Camille/Zeta Gundam figure, and other good stuff. ^_^

Yes judau's collection is truly a sight to behold. ^^;; Speaking of which I remember you having pictures uploaded somewhere, do you still have them?

I finished the Kampfer which I'm really disapointed with, someone lost a shoulder piece during the construction and I'm just not very pleased with how it looks. The Guncannon is pretty good though, after I sand it down and give it another coat and panel lines I'll post pictures. I think I'll wait a while for Freedom, besides I need flat paint instead of enamel. Enamel is very glossy and looks good on UC suits because it gives it a more old school look but I'd prefer flat for Freedom.

And yeah, I have ton of stuff... no, you cannot have my Lain. :P I need the one in her pjs too... ^_^ put that on the other side. And yeah, I have so much stuff that cannot even be fit in to the pictures. For instance basically only my Boba Fett, Jango Fett, and other bounty hunter type stuff could be shown from my Star Wars collection... I have over 40 original line firgures, over 200 newer figures, a ton of vehicles both new and old, and tons of micro machines, books, Action Fleet... damn, I have so many. I still have some things to fix on the Kampfer, and it'd be nice to find the missing piece. -_-; I just need to detail the Guncannon really(I'm very pleased with it), my detailing pen ran out so I need a new one. Oh and Peter, do you completely paint the entire model or just the necessary areas and add panel lines? I wasn't able to figure it out but it does look you you completely painted some of the more recent ones.

Oh and Peter, do you completely paint the entire model or just the necessary areas and add panel lines? I wasn't able to figure it out but it does look you you completely painted some of the more recent ones.

I find just painting what needs to be painted is just fine considering the only Gundam kits I have were made since '95, so they are all molded pretty well. If the colors are off, sometimes I will paint them, or if the Gundam Wing 1/144 colors just suck enough, like on the Tallgeese II... I had to paint most of that. But in general, why waste the paint and time? Mine look great without it, so I don't feel the need to worry about painting the whole thing. Although, I was thinking about getting two MG RGM-79(G)s, one without paint, one with a bunch of dark green paint, to make a nice GM sniper. ^_^

Oh, and I can't see your images, they seem to be broken. >_<
Title: Re:Post your Gundam Collection
Post by: Kairu de Large on August 27, 2004, 10:11:25 PM
I mainly started to attempt painting the entire thing merely to see if I could get it to look like it does on the box. Plus the color that the Kampfer was molded in is god awful, it was Mountain Dew colored o_O. Once I know that I have to ability to paint good I may stop or take it further.

Anyway I put a new link, all the pictures are there.

That's not a bad collection... but you again... need to work on your spelling. As for sizes, all MGs are 1/100s. For HGs, if its the "larger size", its 1/100, smaller ones are 1/144, or even 1/550 if its a really big (like the Dendrobium has a 1/144 and a 1/550). What the heck do you mean by "GG"? That doesn't exist. You have not bought any kits in 4 years? That's a lie. ^^;; Most of those MGs came out in the last 4 years. You actually have a decent collection, but it really sounds like you have no clue what you are talking about.

There is no such thing as a MG Hygog either, theres the HGUC and 1/144 kit which is over 10 years old. You have a nice collection but I think you may be just a little confused.

On a side note, my Strike Gundam beam rifle came today. It's pretty cool and shoots the darts far for something this cheap, although it's a lot smaller than I was expecting. But nonetheless it serves it's purpose as a nice little novelty item from Japan.

Oh yeah, I read that thinking he probably meant the Gogg... which just came out a few months ago. And is the LAST MG I would ever want to buy. << What a shitty MS. Heh, and the "MG Zeon"... at first I was just like "Whaa??" But then I noticed he just forgot the "g".

I almost bought an HG GP03-Dendrobium at Otakon, and then I saw it was going for $190 and I said "Hells no charles de gaule, you can't have france back until I'm done with it," and I mysteriously wound up with an orange baseball hat with the character for turtle on the front, and I shouted out "Look at me Master Roshi, I'm a baseball player!!"

O_O $190?! That's a great price, I would have gotten that in a second. Retail is 28,000 yen, so somewhere around $250-$260. I'll get it eventually, but it would be nice to get it for a little cheaper... another reason I should have just gone to Otakon this year. -_-

Nice, I'll be getting that when I'm not poor.  :P

My cousin had a 1/144 Heavyarms Custom rotting in his basement unopened so he gave it to me for my birthday. I'm not sure when I'll build it since I think I'm gonna try to paint all of it, and once I factor in my laziness that comes out to be a long time.  :P

I was going to buy more kits with the money my family gave me for my birthday, but I spent all of it on my own ps2 because i was sick of fighting with my sister over the one in the living room. Plus I get to play right by the computer I got for christmas/birthday. ^^;

Luckily I have that color already, but I still need a lot of the darker colors and the hobby shop isn't close to my house so that could be a while.

Laura also got me the PG GP-01fb for my birthday... just waiting for it to come in the mail. Gotta love a girlfriend who can be your Gundam kit income until I get my sorry ass back in a job. ^^;;

Now to find room for the GP-01fb and Sazabi....

DOH. >_<

Well today I went to a hobby shop, and although it was a bit over priced..I just couldn't resist with it right in my hands like that. And I absolutly hate waiting for things to ship, so the extra money was worth it in my eyes. Anyway, I bought the MG RX-78-2 Ver. 1.5 and I'm so happy with it that I don't even have buyer's remorse for the higher price.

Pete I do have a question though, I know you have this kit and I was wondering what you did for the eyes as it is a clear white piece of plastic and I really want to avoid using the sticker eyes.  Do I just paint over them with a Gundam marker or is another method needed? Also the Beam javelin is clear white plastic as apposed to pink, but I'm not as concerned about that. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I think I'll start this tomorrow, and with another MG on the way I have quite a bit of work on my hands...

Ah, cool, I love that kit, it was one of my first. :)

All MGs have that clear eye piece, I just paint with black around the "bumps" for the eyes first, once that dries (10 minutes with a Gundam Marker is more than enough), I use the neon green color (or actually, yellow in this case) and carefully just paint those raised bumps that are the eyes. If you make a mistake doing that part, no biggy, just wait for it to dry again and use a touch of black to make the shape of the eyes right. The stickers look stupid, I had them on my Wing 1/144's for a while, then went around and spent hours upon hours painting them all once I got a little better at building kits... they are much better now. ^^;;

And for the pink beam javelin, I just painted the outside of that pink... :-\ It looks decent, but I don't have it posed with it... its in my huge ziplock bag of Gundam model accesories. ^^;; Its full... I'll need a new one soon. << Anyway, good luck with it, it is a great kit. :)

I did that as well with all my kits when I got a little more experienced, I carefully took their heads apart and painted the eyes. So I guess it's just business as usual, I was just wondering if I had to do something different since it was clear plastic which I've never encountered before(except my 1/100 God Gundam but the plastic was already clear green).  I may not bother with the beam javelin, since I doubt I'll pose with it and I don't have any pink paint.

I'm going to start building it as soon as my sisters tutor leaves at 7, then I'll probably pull an all nighter (if need be) working on it. And thanks, it looks great from the box and it will be so cool next to Char's Zaku II when it ships... ^^;

Edit:I finished it! It looks so good, and I didn't even do panel lines yet. I had a few problems at first but I figured it out, and the painting of the eyes turned out good. I also painted the little amuro to the best of my ability(well not really, but the best i could with present materials). But I'm sold with the MG series, I'm sticking to them from now on...it kicks my HGUC Gundam's ass! ^^ I can't wait to build Char's Zaku, I never had so much fun building a kit before and never has the finished product satisfied me as much as this one.

And sounds good, once you finish both, give us pictures. :)

Oh, and so it turns out my awesome girlfriend is not only getting me the GP-01fb PG for my birthday, but also the Strike PG. ^^;; I'm a lucky bastard! :D

Plus, my best friend is getting me the Turn 'A' 1/100 and Mobile Sumo 1/100 from Turn 'A' Gundam. So 4 more... I guess that puts me near 80. :)

The wait was worth it, I don't think I can ever go back to cheap kits. The Zaku II just came today and much to my dismay it is an American kit, I hope overall quality isn't effected because I'd hate to think I was missung out. But the real metal springs in the power cables and positionable mono eye look just too cool so I'm not too worried.  :)

My mom has been really cool this month with kits, she got me the MG MS-06S Zaku II for valentines day and when I was dissapointed for not having enough money at the hobby shop she insisted I buy the RX-78 and gave me some extra money. I was starting to feel a little bad about over paying a bit, but I remembered that so far most of the Gundam stuff I have gotten was really cheap so it balances out. I just ordered 3 fine point black markers and a pink paint marker(for the monoeye) so I should be set for a while. I'm not going to build the Zaku until the markers come, because it would be asanine to build it only to then take the head apart a few days later to paint the eye. I think the markers should get here by the weekend, which is when I would prefer to build it anyway.

I'll post some pictures once both are completed and detailed.

And thats one amazing birthday, 2 PG models! You truly are one lucky bastard... :P Same goes for you, take some new pictures when they are done..I still haven't even seen most of your old kits.(Most curious being your A1 Zeta Gundam)

Yeah, maybe once I get my dad a new USB cable for his camera (he's stubborn on where it stays) I'll take pictures of all of my kits... heh. I like the A1, but sadly I have no room for it out in my room anymore, so its one of the many MGs hiding in my closet. :(
Title: Re: Post your Gundam Collection
Post by: Kairu de Large on February 15, 2005, 09:25:40 PM
I'm going to have to buy some shelves to nail to my wall, I have no spare space for any future kits since my room is small. I like the A1, but I think I'll get the C1 since I like how it looks and it has a cool weapon. I might still buy the A1 at some point though, as the Zeta Gundam is my favorite design.  :)
Title: Re: Post your Gundam Collection
Post by: Judau on February 15, 2005, 10:02:29 PM
I honestly liked the A1's design more... so I got that first. I also still need the C1 and Re-GZ... I should probably get both pretty soon (maybe I'll get the Re-GZ from Anime Boston or something, I've thought about getting it at the last like... 4 conventions). The Ex-S MG has the same weapon as the C1. :P Its pretty big, but not as big as the Zeta MG's. ^_____^
Title: Re: Post your Gundam Collection
Post by: Kairu de Large on February 16, 2005, 12:07:01 AM
Originally I did want to get the A1 first,  but for some reason I picked C1(probably the color scheme), either way I'm not getting any of them for a while and I'm sure my mind will change hundreds of times by then. And the Re-GZ is pretty high on my list, it's one of the first mobile suits I really liked from the start of my Gundam obsession(CCA was the first UC DVD I bought).

I do have a question though, how do you put on dry transfers? I found one site explaining how but it was overly elaborate and it seems like it's supposed to be much more simple than that. But anyway, i was wondering how you do it because your advice is always helpful and easy to do.
Title: Re: Post your Gundam Collection
Post by: Judau on February 16, 2005, 07:43:59 AM
Heh, dry transfers look awesome if you don't screw it up... basically, take off the thin paper on the back of the sheet. Then cut out what you want (I usually do this with an xacto knife on a magazine). Just be careful when you do this not to put too much pressure on the transfer, it can press on to the magazine when you do that... actually, I just thought, you could probably do it with the paper still on. That would probably help. ^^;;

Anyway, you take the one you want on just the clear plastic and place it on the kit. Make sure it is straight and where you want it, then increase your grip so its not going to move anywhere. Use your fingernail and just scratch the outside of the transfer like you would a scratch off lottery ticket. Make sure to get ALL of it and don't move it, if you don't, it will get fucked up. Start with a nice flat surface like on the shoulders or the shield, which both have decals. There are always some dry transfer places that are harder to get to though, and you might run into some issues, but it takes practice. I now rarely screw one up, but I did on the Sazabi's shield last week... but I hid my mistake with yellow paint, so it looks alright. Also, my first MG (the Ez-8), has a "battle damaged" 08 on its shield becaust it was my first dry transfer.... lol.

I like them more than wet transfers because they are less messy, even though with a wet transfer, you can move it around to get it right, dry transfers are more risky. And they both pwn clear stickers, which I hate. Although, even some MGs come with certain stickers that have to be put on.... and for instance, I always like to put on the little sticker that has a square and the pilots name... made to go near the cockpit.... I just like it. <<

Anyway, you'll get it, just start off with an easy spot that maybe is even "expendable".

XD@ruri

Anyway, I tried it and I'm pretty sure I did something wrong considering the crappy decals look better than the transfers. I mean, I got them on(which is good) but I wasn't able to scratch anything off so it looks like sheets of plastic stuck to it. It still looks good but it seems like something better was supposed to happen. And I completely effed up the left shoulder, so I just put that red trojan horse/pegasus thing on for symmetry and I actually like it better. However, when i screwed it up there was some of the transfer left on the plastic(guess thats why they are called transfers.. ::)) and that leads me to believe that is supposed to happen except correctly.

Edit: Wait, I can get it to work. I just did it on the shield except not all of it scratched off, but "RX-78-2" came out just fine. But I don't want to screw up the shoulder because i like how it looks, and I can see some of it scratching off but I can't seem to get all of it, I even tried using the side of a dime to do it and it won't work. Any suggestions?

Eh, nvm my transfer problem, I figured it out. It came out good but not perfect, not bad for the first time I ever used them though. Hopefully by the time I build the Zaku II I will have gotten better at it. And I also only put on the Amuro pilot sticker, the warning signs didn't impress me on american msia's and it doesn't impress me here.

Also since I am short on room, I'm going to get MG Zeta next and then MG ZZ(I've been watching the show and it is growing on me...just wish the story would get somewhere) because they are worth sacrificing what little space I have  for....plus with the RX-78-2 already on my desk the 3 of them would look quite spiffy next to eachother.  :)

And I wish your PG kits a safe trip home judau.  :P

Heh, I *never* put on those craptastic warning stickers. Its not even the actual image on the sticker that's the issue, its that the clear stickers just plain look bad. And yes, thos PGs better get here soon. >_<

I actually got the ZZ MG before I saw the series, that's why I got the ZZ DVDs in the first place. And as said before, the second half is the real story to ZZ, it gets a little more serious. Especially when you see Camille. <<

The clear stickers usually looks bad because finger prints get on the back of them when you pick them up and it looks blurry, also when light shines on them it looks bad and unrealistic.

And yeah, I read that Tomino came in mid series and changed it to set the stage for Char's Counter Attack which he was already planning, thats Tomino-sama for ya..such a genious. ^^; I like the series already, it was only the early episodes when they were stuck in Shangri-La that got to me, as soon as they went into space and Judau took piloting more seriously I began to like it. It takes such a long time to download new episodes but it's worth the wait, I'm off all next week anyway so I'll have plenty of free time towards watching it.

I also got the Gundam movie Trilogy finally for only $30 off of ebay... I kept waiting and waiting since I did not want to pay $65 or whatever for them... and now its basically impossible to find (besides the new set with Miller's Report and CCA, but I have those already)... so I figured I would look around and I found a deal, so I went for it. ^_^
Title: Re: Post your Gundam Collection
Post by: Kairu de Large on March 02, 2005, 01:58:47 PM
Nice, I really need to get that myself just don't want to pay 70 bucks for it, perhaps I'll begin looking on ebay frequently for them. I did see it cheap on half.com but I don't always trust them with their pictures, because at times they seem to have one generic picture for everything thing and a domestic set could actually be the bootlegs(and from the descriptions it obviously has been a few times) and I don't like buying bootlegs for the movies.  :( So I may just cave and pay the 70 bucks since it's also in Suncoast(like the Zeta Gundam set) so I'll get a slight discount anyway.

And I would like to see the first trilogy before I see the Zeta Gundam compilation movies so I'll need to hurry I suppose....but I'm sure it'll be a while before I can get my hands on the Zeta movies even when they come out.

I decided to get some t-shirts from HLJ since all of the American Gundam shirts more or less suck ass. So I got these:

Although I just noticed the last two are now out of stock... which really scares me. I better get them. -_-

I like the back of this... but for some reason I am just not a big fan of the front... :-\

I liked these, but they were not in stock in Large:

Anyway, I also got a few kits cause I hate ordering from HLJ and not using the shipping... << Although the shirts were already pricey cause they are Cospa... >_< So I got the Hi-Zack MG, Black Trinity Zaku II MG, F-91 Kai (SF91), Hardy Gun (SF91), G-Cannon Magna (SF91), and the Tallgeese I 1/144 (the last one I needed, finally decided to spend the 600 yen. Heh...

Yeah I've noticed the crappiness of US T-shirts as well, there is just something annoying about them. But I still don't own any, which is blasphemy considering I love Gundam so much. I hope you at least get the ZZ shirt, that was my favorite out of all of them. Perhaps one day I'll get some of them Cospa shirts...

But thats pretty cool that you're getting those kits, I plan on getting all of those at some point. Speaking of MGs, I missed out on a $20(!) MG ZZ Gundam with cheap shipping the other day all because I was in school when it ended! >_<;;; Now thats a bargain if I ever saw one, I hope I see another one cheap soon.

I did make my last order from HOA though, thus sapping them dry of everything I may want...guess it's back to full price. So far I built (all HGUC) the Zaku III, Gouf, and Gogg and I'm getting the Gelgoog Marine and Rick Dias on Easter so I don't have to pay my mom back for them. I like them all so far, but damn is the Gogg ugly...more than usual because of the color it's molded in. Oh well, it was 5 bucks and I was going to end up getting it at some point anyway..at least it was cheap in this case.

Heh, yeah, can't beat good prices. I think I got my ZZ MG off of ebay for about $30 (shipping included), which was pretty good, but that would have been a lot nicer. People always bid last minute though. ^^;;

And the problem with the American shirts is that they are all so unoriginal (not to mention mostly Wing and G)... go through all of those Cospa shirts and they are just awesome... for every series, not just Gundam. Such good ideas... it really can't be that hard to make something nicer than just a picture of the Wing Gundam that *everybody* has seen a million times online. <<
Title: Re: Post your Gundam Collection

This was $24 with shipping when it ended as opposed to it's usual price of around $40, so it REALLY sucks that I missed out on that.. ::)

I always looked at the US Gundam shirts as not really being aimed at Gundam fans, but the general consumer or "mall whore"(since they usually were sold there). I have a Eva and Hellsing shirt and both are pretty cool, but the Gundam ones are as you said..a picture we've seen endless times with a stupid backround and the Gundam's name in annoying font. I remember there being some 08th MS Team ones but I was too small at the time to buy them, so I missed out..would have liked that Gouf Custom one.  >_> But I have decided to get that blue Zeon symbol t-shirt you're getting except black with a orange fire Zeon symbol(which isn't out til' April, which is fine because I don't have money now anyway). Of course if I ever buy anything from HLJ it will have to be a large order to get my money's worth, which will require a paycheck first..heh.

Check out my thread in the Members forum for anyone who wants to see an updated showing of most of my collection... most of the kits are in the two closets (I love the picture with my PGs and Zeta MGs in it... ^^)... but I also have most of my newer MGs and a few 1/100s scattered about the room... Pete, if you have any wall space you should get shelves that you attach to the wall on hinges, I bought some at home depot and they are great. And my room has come a long way these past 3 years or so, here's hoping in another 3 years it will be even better.  :) I'm sure I will catch up or at least come close to you, I have to keep in mind you're older than me as well. If I don't it's fine though, I'm sure my collection will please me and visitors no matter the size, but I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

And I'm excited about the Trilogy, I have been dieing to see them for so long, and the deal was so good I can relax when I watch them.  :) I've aslo been meaning to re watch 0079 in general, but I'm too lazy to watch 43 episodes, so this condensed form is perfect.

Yeah, I don't have any wall space though... I've already taken down any posters I did not care for, and I like having those 4 spots for wallscrolls (which is the nice thing about wallscrolls, you can take one down, roll it up, and put a different one up if you want... I actually have 6)... so I really have no room for shelves... plus, I would want fairly large ones so I could fit MGs on it comfortibly... I might just have to start packing up my Wing 1/144s or something... they take up so much room. :-\

Yeah, I found them a very good translation, and they really feel like movies... not too rushed either. Only minor things were taken out completely, like the Gyan for instance...

Well they came, and much to my dismay, they are a bootleg..-_- Oh well, I'll just keep them, but I really wanted to stick to my pledge to buy the movies in domestic form only..

Anyway I have almost finished watching the first movie, and I gotta say I'm very impressed..also this is the first time I have ever seen 0079 with decent subtitles. I was kind of annoyed about them changing the sounds at first, but I got over it and it grew on me. But still, how could they? Thats like changing the sounds a Tie Fighter makes or the sounds a lightsaber makes, if they ever did that with Star Wars Lucas would be dead by morning. Still, it's strange that the sounds are top notch and then the animation and visuals are the exact opposite,

Anyway, I went to Anime Boston this past weekend, so I got a bunch of new Gundam stuff... I got the HGUC 1/144 Psycho Gundam ($50), the FIX Figuration Hyakushiki (it had 58 friggin tie-wraps holding the pieces in... it took forever to get them all out @_@)($44), HCM Pro Hyakushiki, Psycho Gundam/Four keychain, and Laura got me the PG Strike for $139! :)

Well I have long since watched the movies, and they were simply amazing and I preferred them to the series. The pace was perfect, the series had a lot of things that didn't have much purpose and things just dragged on too much. I'm really excited for the Zeta movies now, the only upset to seeing the movies is now I want more OYW kits...ack this always happens. X_X

I wish you guys would stop complimenting Peter on his collection. ;_;  He keeps buying more and more, and though I do add to his collection, it's the only way I can get near him. -_-; lol

Sort of like a baby and candy. :P

But yes, get a girlfriend that'll buy you model kits!! ;) You'll surely catch up with Peter.  I yell at him all the time to save up his money. ^_^ (Though, it's not like he ever listens. -_-; )

Peter's coming to visit this Sunday(night)-Wednesday, maybe he can visit you at work or something!  (That's if you're working in SunCoast) <_<;

Well I still want to say nice things, but I can tone it down too I suppose.  :P I do have a girlfriend but I wouldn't really want her to spend that kind of money on me, if I had a job and could buy her stuff too then I'd be more ok with it...but I don't so..^^; Suncoast never gave me a call back, so at this point I'd say I didn't get the job...which is a bummer considering there aren't many other jobs around here I could begin to tolerate. But who knows, maybe by some chance I'll see you guys there. =P

Heh, good luck finding a job. :)

And I have not built anything since before Anime Boston, so I'll just make sure to post how the kits are when I get around to them... and who knows when that will be, I start working tomorrow. ^^;;

And I agree, the movies were fantastic. And from the looks of the trailers for the first Zeta movie, it looks like they are reanimating everything, so it should be fucking awesome. I can't wait. ^____^

Thanks, I haven't found any yet though...^^

Good luck with your kits, especially(!) the PG Strike.  :) I actually just finished 2 kits, the 1/100 Force Impulse and my 1/144 Heavyarms Custom that I finally got around to painting(had it since christmas).

Yeah, that might take a while. ^^;; And I still need to get the 1/100 Heavyarms Custom... I have been wanting that and the 1/100 Gundam Natuku since I first started looking at kits years ago... I should just give up the $30-$35 next time I see them... even if it is over priced. Damn Endless Waltz kits, they are NOT worth that much. -_- I don't see them having MG quality.

I figure I might as well post my GSD collection so far since I already uploaded the pics.  So here they are (not the greatest picture taking skills but whatever):

Chaos Gundam
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/shinaku/DSC00525.jpg

Blaze Zaku Phantom
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/shinaku/DSC00524.jpg

Gunner Zaku Warrior, Lunamaria
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/shinaku/DSC00528.jpg

I have the Force Impulse, but I messed up on some spot and it really shows so I won't show that one.  I'm building the Sword Impusle now and that should be easy to paint.  And please do not point out the flaws of each model, I already know them, but I just don't feel like fixing them.

They look fine to me, infact I enjoyed them quite a bit and they look really good. You're still much better than me and a lot of others I've seen, I look foward to seeing more of your work.  :) (Damn that Blaze Zaku Phantom is spiffy *_* *needs one...*)

While we are on the subject, here is the Heayyarms custom I mentioned a few times:

Forgive the crappy picture(camera phone) and crappy model itself.  :P Sadly enough this is the best I ever did...>>

What kind of paints do you use?

You're more daring than I am painting the 144's.  I tried that and gave up.  I don't have the patient nor the single bristle brush to paint those things.  As for paints, I use Taimya and Model Master acrylics.  Of course any part that I can use the spray can on, I do.  When painting with the acrylics, I use "airbrush" in the sense of that I don't have an airbrush.  I just use the attachment and snap it on to the can of compressed air.  That's why I get those textures on my models rather than the smooth even coating.  But with some trial and error with the clear coats, I can usually hide that pertty well :)  Oh and thanks for the compliment, I thought my skills were somewhat lacking :)  I'll post the Sword Impulse when it's done...next week probably.

Oh, while I'm posting my stuff, might as well show you guys my PG Strike :P  I love this thing...what a pain to paint though...all those parts.

I use a Tamiya acrylics and Testors enamels/acrylics, and I of course try to use sprays whenever possible(I'm quite lazy). I don't usually paint Gundams, only the small details with the Gundam markers, but if I just plain don't like the colors it's molded in at all I'll paint the whole thing. Painting them all the time is a waste of paint IMO, I need to save them for like Star Wars models that really need it(I'm poor). Besides, I think they usually look pretty nice just as they are. But I have always thought about buying one of those "airbrushes", perhaps I will look into it further if they work well for you.

And thanks but my 1/144s really aren't that good.  :P But your PG Strike is really nice! You must really have some guts painting a Perfect Grade kit..^^;

Nice work, both of you. ^_^ Its been a while since I built a kit... I have to get to my PG Strike and HGUC Psycho soon... and you guys know my philosophy on painting... unless it really needs it, don't. Panel lines are a must, though. And most of my kits look fine to me, so its just not needed in my opinion. Although you can see a difference, so I do respect anyone who paints everything regardless... :)

Just got my 1/100 Destiny and 1/60 Impulse a few days ago.  I just started to build the Destiny, and I'm glad to see that they're making the HG more complex with each new release.  The weird thing about the Destiny model is that it came with 2 leg joints.  One straight and one skewed and bent.  That's fine and all since you can do more poses, but you would probably have to take apart the hips to change it.  Kinda wish they just made the joints movable instead.  Also it's cool that it came with a stand, but where are those energy wings?!  It just doesn't look the same without those bright pink wings coming out...guess I'll have to make my own.  Still it's a very cool model.

Now about the 1/60 Impulse.  Looks like a good kit.  Pretty much just HG version of a PG Strike.  They have some of the same details (well obviously not THAT great since it's not a PG) like the shoulders.  Though I don't know why they made the light blue parts see through.  I'll have pictures of them when I finish.  And next month, S Freedom :)

Next I'll build the 1/60 Impulse.  Hopefully I'll finish that before S Freedom comes out.

Very nice work, you can probably make the energy wings out of clear styrene sheets and clear paint. I look foward to seeing the 1/60 Impulse.  :)

I'm starting several Gunpla projects soon myself, amazon had more models on clearence and I struck gold this time! ^^ Expect lots of pictures.

Yes I heard about the sale on Amazon.  I was tempted, but I decided that I should just stick with current series.  I'm just about out of space on my wall.  As for the 1/60, well that got pushed back simply because I just bought Strike Freedom today, and I'll always pick Freedom over Impulse :P  So hopefully, I'll have clear weather so I can paint that quickly, or that I get my airbrush soon.

ooh...shhhiiiiinnnnnyyyy Hyaku Shiki...I want one :P  Did you paint that one gold, or is that just the gold plated plastic?  Cuz I have to paint the gold parts on S Freedom and I'm not sure how "gold" it will look.  Btw S Freedom model isn't as posable as Destiny which kinda ticked me off.  Plus I think this was the worst packaged model I've ever had.  The runners were bent so some of the pieces doesn't fit perfectly so that'll cost me mort time to fix.  Why did my favorite MS had to be the badly packaged one?!  And did you know that the side rail guns are actually folded behind its hips?  I just thought that the rail guns had to be removed for the rifles to be mounted.  Anyway, I just need to do the legs and wings and then paint it.  It'll look very cool :)

He came like that, both the HGUC and MG are like that, but the one that comes with the Hyper Mega Launcher isn't gold plated. He looks much nicer in real life, the flash of the camera made it look darker. It's a hassle to build though because you have to be careful not to damage it when cutting it out of the sprues, and you can't sand down the excess so it doesn't fit that well sometimes and the result is horrible seams.

And that sucks, the pictures I saw at Dalong made it look like it actually had gold plated parts.I have had several damaged kits, it does suck pretty bad but I actually found it fun working around the problems. Heh, if you wanna see kits that don't fit well, try some of the older Star Wars kits.. -_-;

Well Good luck with it, can't wait to see some pics.  ;)

I'm actually more interested in the 1/60 Strike Freedom, the LED parts look quite cool.  :)

The Strike Freedom Flash edition, yeah that does sound cool.  I'll be getting that when it comes out later in the year.  Though I can imagine how annoying it would be to build with all those wires running through it.

And the damage isn't that bad.  Most of the bent parts are just the long ones which after putting them together, they hold their shape pretty well.  Some sanding here and there, but not bad.  As for the "gold" parts, yeah, they're just plastic gold.  I'm not sure if I want to paint it with luster gold or if I should just mix the paints till I get the dull gold.  I'd imagine it would look odd if the entire model is semi gloss and somewhat dull, but then some of the joints are shining gold.  So I'll test it out first.  I should have it finish by this weekend.  Now how to pose this thing.  Should I do it:

a) The "Wing Zero Pose" that they did in the third ending sequence with its legs crossed and wings spread out
b) The "Die Shinn DIE!!" which is having all the guns and DRAGOONS out
c) The "Classic Action Pose" being just rifle/beam saber in hand
d) The "Intro Pose" the one they use for the op with him holding his docked rifles.

Ugh, why didn't I buy 4 models so I can do them all :P

Just posting what I got at Otakon this year...

1/100 MG Freedom Gundam
1/100 Gundam Astray Red Frame
1/100 Gundam Leopard D
1/100 Heavyarms Custom
1/100 Tallgeese III
1/100 Gundam Aegis (only $12, HLJ gave me $10 off cause I wore my HLJ shirt ^_^)

HCM Pro Mk.II (AEUG)
Zeta Gundam pencil board
A Haro Keychain that lights up. << (Oh, and Laura got the remote control Haro, it's pretty nifty)

I think that's it... I was thinking of getting the PG Strike Skygrasper... but ended up not cause it was $65... a little too much at the time. ^^;;

Oh wow, and I just noticed they are releasing the PG Strike Rouge with Skygrasper:
http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN938257

They could have chosen about a million better candidates for PG treatment... but I guess it's just like the Mk.II and Zaku... they already have the mold.

Oh, and the Char's Zaku PG from Amazon with much thanks to Kyle...

Ok, finally finished S Freedom.  I made it a little too black, especially after I applied the overcoat.  That pretty much just turned it black.  Just to point out, the rifles can combine, and looks cool, the hip rail guns can be rotated towards the back so that the rifles can dock on the hips, and the Dragoons does separate.  As for the pose, well I just picked this one because I already had MG Freedom doing the "all out attack" pose, and having all the Dragoons out didn't make it look that good.  So I just went with the classic pose.  But the coolest thing about this model (you can't tell from the pic) but the cobalt blue has the best overall texture I've ever had with any other model...why?  Because I got an airbrush :)  I would usually have a very rough texture with the colors I "airbrushed" with the can adapter which I had to hide using a combination of overcoats, but now I can get a nice smooth look.  And I'll admit, the gold parts came out very nice.  I had my doubts for awhile but then I'm glad that Tamiya made their gold color in spray form :P  But enough with tech stuff, just look at the pics:

Alright, so I have been sitting on something like 19 Gundam kits that are unbuilt for quite some time, but I finally built the Tallgeese III 1/100 and Psycho Gundam 1/144. Both are awesome.

The Tallgeese was a little annoying since I hate having to paint too much and well... all Tallgeese kits suck for that except maybe the 1/144 Tallgeese I. So I expected it, and once it was finally finished, it looks great. Nothing makes panel lines shine like white. :)

The Psycho Gundam is absolutely huge. It's a fairly simple kit, minus the extra parts inside to transform it to mobile armor mode, but it was just fun and looks fantastic. The pure size of it is great... obviously still nothing compared to say... the Dendrobium, but this is just a Gundam, not some huge mobile armor with a Gundam within. I put my 1/144 HGUC Char's Z'Gok next to it for comparison... it's about 2.5 times it's size... which, although you think of 1/144s as tiny, that's pretty large. I should put it next to one of my PGs and see how close they are.

I did take pictures, although I am at school and I don't have them with me... I'll try to put them up tonight if I remember, though. Fun stuff. :)

I think I'll do my Astray Red Frame 1/100 next... gotta love a Gundam with a samurai sword. :)

Then again... I do still have my Strike PG to finish, the Char's Zaku II PG, and the Freedom MG. <<;;;;

Lets add another post in the row just to say right here and right now... when school is through and it's summer again, I really need to start building more of my model kits. I have... like 25 models stacked in my bedroom that are taking up a lot of space that I still have not built... including a lot of really badass ones. The problem (besides time)... I have to start packing figures and older models if I want to actually have space for them to be displayed. :( Good bye Gundam Wing 1/144 kits... ^^;;

I finally got started on some of mine, I just finished a MG Ez8 and a HGUC Hi-zack last week. I still got the MG GM and PG Char's Zaku to go, and I have no idea when I can find the time for a perfect grade. Space was my biggest problem too but my girlfriend is a master organizer and opened up alot of room for me, I should be good for maybe another 20 kits(after which I am going to have to start sacrificing anime figures). ^^ I really gotta get the ball rolling though, there are so many bad ass kits out there that I don't own and thats a crime. I actually may be getting the MG F91 in a few days because it is pretty affordable and I really like it. I will say right now tho, that with some work the Hi-Zack is one beautiful HGUC... :) I would've liked the MG, but there just isn't enough space to get everything I want in MG form(money is an issue too). =/

I look foward to reading about your progress though, and I will continue to post mine.  :)

Haha, well I still havn't touched mine. However, school is ending this week, so who knows... maybe I'll be in the mood next week to work on my pileS of kits in my room (that are taking up just as much floor space as my built ones are with desk space). I do have the MG F91 and MG Crossbone to build, too... *drool* Not to mention my Strike PG is still 1/4 built and my Char's Zaku II PG (thanks again for letting me know about the rediculous price... haha) is also unopened.

I really like the Ez-8 MG... it was the 4th one I built in 2001. And the Hi-Zack MG is really worth it... while the HGUCs are good stuff, the MG is just beautiful. I have it front and center on the top of my computer tower for a reason... :)

Anyway, looking good. I'll make sure to post mine whenever I finish one. Haha...

I just got the MG F91 and Crossbone in chinatown last month actually, I got them at a place you mentioned years ago on here(finally got around to hunting it down lol).  Anyway, they are truly amazing kits....great designs and just look incredible. The Rafflesia stand for the F91 needed a bit of painting but it was so worth it, its the center piece of my desk now. ^^ I also finished a 1/100 Buster Gundam and Providence Gundam recently which are fairly decent but they are still crappy Seed kits. I have quite a few more to build though so I got a bit of work.

I really hope the "MG 100" will be the Turn A, because i just finished that series and fell in love with the design. I want to get the 1/100 but not if they are just gonna make an MG right after I get it... :-\

Here are some very poor pictures of my Crossbone and F91, I really need to get a  good digital camera:
Crossbone- http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/Kairu_Deikun/Picture017-1.jpg (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/Kairu_Deikun/Picture017-1.jpg)

And your welcome about the PG Zaku lol, always happy to help.  :P

Haha, very nice... I really like that stand for the F91, too... maybe I should finally build it. Haha, I think I got both my Crossbone and F91 from the same place in Chinatown, but at different times. It's nice, the prices are about the same as conventions and most online retailers... but you can actually shop around. :)

And I want an MG Turn 'A', too... the series just seems stupid until you watch it and realize it's really a great show... and while the designs look so weird at first, they really grow on you. I have both the 1/100 Mobile Sumo (gold plated) and 1/100 Turn 'A' on my computer tower... with the Hi-Zack mentioned above. Hahaha.... I love them. :) They are really good 1/100 HGs, though... Not sure how much more they could really do with an MG.... but Bandai always surprises me with the MGs, so I'd love for them to try. :)

Bandai would find a way to pull off something great with the Turn A, probably slightly redesigning it but I'm sure it would look really nice. I loved the designs in Turn A, even the Wadom despite being completely weird was awsome. They really weren't much stranger than the designs in V, I hated those bug things....and the helicoptors...and things that ride in tires...and chinese dragons...

But yeah that underground mall was amazing, every where i went I saw something interesting and I honestly didn't want to leave. When I get a job I'm going back with a giant bag to stock up.  :)

Oh, and my wonderful girlfriend bought me a MG Aile Strike Gundam in Connecticut at a store called "Universal Century". I so want to visit this magical place! ^^ But I know you have this kit, how is it?

Haha, very true. Although it's odd, it seems as though most people automatically think of Turn A when "weird designs" come up... but V Gundam was full of down-right ugly mobile suits, as mentioned. ^^;;

What you'd expect. :) It's just a very nice MG with a stand and the nice frame technology they designed when they did the G Gundam MGs... It's simple and beautiful. :D
